Sixx: A.M. – Life is Beautiful Lyrics 15 years ago
fight club :)
but yeah this song is pretty self explanatory and it obviously reflects nikki sixx's near death incidents
the part where it says "do you swear on your life that no one will cry at my funeral" i believe it refers to how this will be a cycle in which the grief of losing someone will cause more suffering and self pity, so he's saying that he just wants people to learn that life is short and to cherish it, rather than worrying about it and wasting time considering death

Jack Off Jill – Poor Impulse Control Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this song, it's so addicting :) I think it's about suicide, or at least depression and contemplating suicide after losing someone to suicide.
I envy your demise
I hope it's all you dreamed it would be
One bullet in this gun
Not sure if it's for you or me
-she wants to be like this person and just have the courage to commit suicide
I envy your demise
With all the guilt you hid away
All the lies that I had spun
And all the times I wished you'd stay
-she can't deal with the things in her life and feels like she will meet the same fate at this person
Now, all that I'll ever suffer
All that I'll ever be
All that I'll ever ruin
You can always cover me with makeup
-she's kind of talking herself out of, telling herself that she can always hide her sadness with superficial emotions
I envy your demise
Seven hundred and fifty degrees
When it burned it smelled like you
But it scorched and looked a lot like me
-she sees herself ending her life the same way as this person, maybe even more severely. she sees a lot of the same problems in both of them
I envy your demise
You never said that you'd try
When I had to lose control
Lose control to really cry
-maybe her friend promised not to die like this. now that she sees how everything changes, she's experiencing real emotions on her downward spiral

Lady GaGa – Bad Romance Lyrics 16 years ago
i love this song so much, lady gaga is like my idol :)
the song is pretty much about wanting someone so badly despite knowing all the precautions and all the persons bad traits she knows it won't work but she is just so in lust with this person that she is embracing all the ugly and psycho and horror just to have this person kind of like the motto "it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all"
and this part:I want your psycho
Your vertigo shtick
Want you in my room
When your baby is sick
is actually
"i want your psycho your vertigo stick want you in my rear window baby you're sick"
she said it herself that these are the lyrics and she said that she is listing hitchcock movies to show that she wants this person's horror, with a sexual conotation of course

Pierce the Veil – I'd Rather Die Than Be Famous... Lyrics 16 years ago
ok i'm glad i'm not the only hahah
it actually fits if you think about it
"this whole place is gonna burn" - how shannon burns the house down at evie's wedding
"put the gun down for me" - when evie is about to shoot brandy
"love me as you lay dizzy and falling your legs dangling" - when shannon is feeding brandy pills in that one bathroom scene
"although accidents happen they happen to me" - the whole incident with shannon's face getting blown off and also shane's accident with the hairspray
"i want to be done don't want to be famous no more" - how shannon doesn't really want to have an identity..if she can't be beautiful she would rather be invisible
"my teenage heart-attack keeps talking back" - how shannon is constantly reminded of the day when shane left
"and i can't pretend that off this balcony we wouldn't want to jump off of it" - when they're all in seattle on top of that needle thing y
mmmm makes sense i guessssss haha

Be Your Own Pet – Zombie Graveyard Party Lyrics 17 years ago
I think saying she's a zombie is like comparison, cuz obviously she's not a zombie..well you never know but anyway..
I think that something happened where she just became kinda isolated and couldn't love anymore, so she has no choice but to let her emotions die, like a zombie would.

Envy on the Coast – Suckerpunch Lyrics 17 years ago
bmwh2t
A Russian dolls is the type of doll where you can open it in half and another doll is inside. Then that dolled can be opened and another doll will be inside, and so on. Each of the dolls are usually the same, explaining the lyrics.
Black and blues are bruises. He wants them, as though they're badges of honor.
And that last line means the guy said something negative or whatever and now the narrator is going to get back at him and take him/his words to the grave.
Hope that helps :)
By the way..I love this song, especially the whole Jekyll and Hyde part. Envy is amazinggggg

Pierce the Veil – Currents Convulsive Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is about Hollywood and peer pressure, as well as the hunger for perfection.
"I don't think you'll ever want to love me" -- This girl is pressured into refusing to love someone as imperfect as this guy.
"You'd better listen to your doctor" -- Because this doctor is going to help her achieve "perfection", he's giving her the mindset that anything less than perfect in unacceptable. Therefore, the guy and girl could never be together.
"If the dollar is right" -- The doctors don't care about her really and how she's being brainwashed, just money.
"I'd rather see you dead" -- He would rather her die in the process of perfection or die imperfect than live with her rejection.
"I'm in love...but not for long" -- He won't love her after she's been changed.
I don't know that's my weird interpretation, but I love Pierce the Veil :)

Envy on the Coast – Mirrors Lyrics 17 years ago
Oh, yeah, and obviously the whole "mirror mirror on the wall" line goes with the title.
And I also read something a while ago that I just remembered, which was a myth that the seven dwarfs from Snow White represent the seven stages of cocaine addiction..I thought that was interesting..

Envy on the Coast – Mirrors Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is kind of like a comparison between Snow White and drugs (cocaine). The comparison is probably there because Snow White was put to sleep by her own curiosity (exploring the woods and the cottage) and this girl is dying from her willingness to experience drugs.
"Dear Ms. White" "Princess, rest we talk in our sleep" "With hair as black as night her skin a dead, pearly white" "In the coffin where you sleep" - All Snow White references.
"You'll be nursing a bloody nose" - An obvious common effect from snorting cocaine.
"I can't be your prince" "I'm no savior, I'm no saint, saint" - He's saying that he can't save her from herself and her drug abuse. He can't be like the prince in Snow White and make everything okay.
"I am the mirror who can't let go" - Cocaine is often done on aluminum foil, which is reflective like a mirror. He can't stop seeing her in this way, and although he can keep her secrets, he can't let her lose herself, so he tries to constantly let her see what she's turning into.
By the end of the song, he's given up on her, since no one can save her.

Scary Kids Scaring Kids – The City Sleeps In Flames Lyrics 17 years ago
I can see how it's about the apocolypse or 9-11, but whenever I listen to it, I think of a relationship falling apart, or a guy breaking up with a girl and he is devestated and still in love with her.
"the empire will fall like they planned on" -- I think of the Roman Empire, as in how it's so sturdy and powerful, yet it fell eventually, like how in a falling-apart relationship.
"I said your name, and you, looked the other way" -- He's calling out for her, but she doesn't want to be with him.
"I'd give you everything if there was something left" -- He would give her his heart, but since she stole it or broke, he can't do so.
"Tear drops will spill, from your blue eyes" -- She feels bad for making him crazy, but she just doesn't want to be with him.
Also, I think the apocolyspe feeling might be because he feels like it's the end of the world for him since he lost the love of his life.

Nirvana – In Bloom Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, this song is about people who listen to music, but don't know what it means, or people who write music, just based off of other people's musical storylines and without creativity.
"And he likes to sing along and he likes to shoot his gun" -- These writers/listeners just do things for the hell of it.
"Nature is a whore" -- People's nature to wanna be random things and to follow other people's trends is a terrible thing.
Also, the random phrases mock these people taking their random and senseless thoughts to a new extreme.

The Dresden Dolls – Slide Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure this is about child rape, but I do understand the life aspect as well. In the sexual abuse aspect, the slide represents aging, the playground innocence, and the orangeman abductor.
"and he tells her he'll take her away where it's safe" -- Because she is so innocent and gullible, he uses the classic line that he will bring her to safer place, where all he wants to do is rape her.
"but her smile is wide and her legs are spread wider her hair growing long and her hips getting larger" -- Although she is getting older and hitting puberty, she still doesn't understand that this man is truly bad. He hurt her, yet she still believes that he will bring her to a better place.
"past getting brighter light growing weaker" -- She is finally beginning to understand that this might not be a good thing, and she is starting to appreciate life and her past, since her hope is fading. She is still quiet about the situation, obviously, since most people abused as children are.
"they're just playing! that's a good one" -- Anyone who has witnessed the rape keeps quiet about it. It can also mean that the girl is thinking of excuses if anyone finds out, because she is scared of what her parents will think of the abuse, that they might not love her anymore, which is what abductors commonly say to their victims to keep them quiet.
"the orangeman got you" -- With the music getting louder very suddenly, this could be a breakthrough for the girl. She is finally going to speak about her abuse, because the "orangeman" did not keep his promise. But then at the end when they repeat the beginning, a realization is made that she didn't speak sooner, so the cycle will begin again. Or the repetition could be her explaining what happened in court as a testimonail or to the police to give a report of what happened to her.

The Dresden Dolls – Bad Habit Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is actually about Amanda Palmer's habit of biting her nails, but it can obviously be interpretted as anyone wants to be. But if you really look at the lyrics, it's about her personal "bad habit".
"biting keeps your words at bay" -- Because you are covering your mouth with your hand.
"mittens in the summertime" -- A way to stop biting
"i've tried gloves and even thinking i've tried vaseline" -- Amanda has tried every way to quit.

The Academy Is... – Checkmarks Lyrics 17 years ago
I love this song, it's one of my favorites from TAI.... The song means to me that a girl his cheating on him and they break up. But they still see each other around, and because the feelings are still there, there is a lot of temptation, but he won't give in because he knows what will happen if they get back together. Also, the girl is a so-called "starf*cker" and is embarrassed by him because his fame doesn't live up to what she's had before or what other expect her to have.
"So there you are, and here I stand, as far as I remember you weren't half bad" -- He sees his ex and begins to be tempted, thinking about their sexual relations.
"So don't explain cause I know exactly what you're going to say" -- If this is during the relationship, he has known about her cheating and doesn't want to hear her un-heartfelt apologies. If it is afterward when he sees her, he doesn't want to hear about how they should get back together.
"I bet you're still a sucker for those famous faces" -- This goes along with the whole humility thing.
"Just look at how we've changed" -- He is hoping that she sees that he has gotten over her and that he could have been everything she wanted, without her having to cheat.

Escape the Fate – Not Good Enough for Truth In Cliché Lyrics 17 years ago
I believe this song tells kind of like a love story about devotion. A guy is in love, but then his girlfriend dies or breaks up with him and he is devestated. He wants to die, but he does not want to seem weak, so he will set it up as though it was all an accident.
"Hurtful words, from my enemies of the last five years what's it like to die alone?" -- He is being taunted by obviously his enemies about his lover's being gone, making him even weaker.
"Sitting in this room playing Russion roulette" -- He is actually trying a number of ways to kill himself to see what will actually end his life, hence the Russian roulette statement, since he won't actually know what is going to kill him.
"Finger on the trigger to my dear Juilet" -- He is doing this to be with his Juilet, his true love.

From First to Last – World War Me Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is definitely about Sonny's bulimia and his self-hatred. I also believe it's addressing other people with these neagtive thoughts of themselves.
"Let's starve down to the bone, we're looking better boney" -- This is about his eating disorder, obviously.
"Oh poor me, oh poor you" -- A bit of a sarcastic remark addressing other bulimics and self-mutilating people. It's how everyone hates themselves and wallows in self-pity.

From First to Last – Waltz Moore Lyrics 17 years ago
This song IS about Sonny. He did suffer from bulimia. The lyrics are pretty much self explanitory, about how he never was satisfied with himself or his appearance.
"And I refuse to leave the world without smearing on makeup with my hair blinding my eyes" -- He's trying to cover up himself and make himself invisible so no one would put him down more than he was putting himself down, hence the line "And you had the nerve to call out my weakness".
And I would also like the say that I absolutely loveee this song :)

Blessthefall – Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad Lyrics 17 years ago
I mostly agree with sofa king. I think the song is about a girl who was raped as a child and is now in a relationship, but cannot get close to her partner because of the abuse she suffered.
"You scream don't look, you scream don't touch" -- A guy is describing how his girlfriend's rape has affected their physical (as well as mental) relationship.
"And everytime I think about your voice, I start to tremble" -- He really loves her, but he can't stand to see her like this.
"And anytime you need a shoulder, I'm right here, you've just gotta find a way" -- He wants to comfort her, but she has to "find a way" to want support.
I also think that the musical break with the slow music can represent her making peace with the fact that she is scarred, or the guy realizing that HE really can't help her, but God possibly can ("Oh God please help us, get her out of this").
