This song makes me teary. Its a simple song. She doest prize romance/love on materiality. Its about simple things, like smiling, being able to read that person like a book and making them a cup of coffee the way they like it. That to me = outshines any type of relationship which is based on money. "I wish you couldn't figure me out But you always wanna know what I was about" What is comes down too is her wishing that he loved her and being able to appreciate all those simple things in life with him. |

This is going to be my wedding song. 'And if all the world was perfect I would only ever want to see your scars' This song is perfect. Despite the imperfections a person has.... they are totally disregarded when it comes to loving someone. You put that aside and see the positive in someone. So beautiful. |

I just discovered this song recently... and its been stuck on repeat for days. It reminds me youth. As some others have mentioned a summer fling. I think everyone has that 'one boy' that you meet and you automatically feel a strong magnetic force. Even though you barely know him you are still drawn to him... and more importantly want to get to know him. Despite this connection you both share you know deep down it wont work for some reason or another. These lyrics are amazing: "Flew home, back to where we met Stayed inside I was so upset Cooked up a plan so good except I was all alone, you were all I had Love you, you were all I had Love me, I was yours right?" For me , the above means that once you go your separate ways ..... you grow up in the process of moving away.... and you question that connection you had with him. Was it all one sided? Were you seeing what you wanted to see, and not what was in front of you? |

This song is someone who has lost a battle with themselves. Whether is be through alcohol as the lyrics suggest, or perhaps its drug related. This person cannot be helped either. They just let themselves swim in self pity. By doing so they are not letting the ones that love them in. Also, I think the concept of 'money ... money' etc denotes that this loved one is willing to do whatever it takes to help this person, despite how much bad they have done in their life. Whatever situation they are in their loved one is going to be their to bail them out. Lovely.yet.sad.song. |
