Quiffporn, stop being such a douche and start listening to some real music. Or, better yet, just get lost. This page is for people who appreciate the music & lyrics, not for persons like you who want to make fun of everything that isn't their taste in music. Sorry, but most people usually have enough sense to keep rather rude oppinions to themselves. Now, on to the song. This is third on my list of favourite HIM songs, mainly because it is so beautiful (and has quite a bit of Burton invloved, so don't mind me & my Burton obession). It always makes me want to cry, or cry, because of the lyrics. Personally, these lyrics always hit very close to home for me. It's a break-up favourite of mine. |

So, staindpearls, I'm not the only one who picked up on the Dante reference, am I? The whole Venus Doom album refers to the nine Circles Of Hell, at least, that's what Ville said in an interview. Anyway, Sleepwalking Past Hope's intro is another example of what Burton is capable of as a pianist. Also, what the band is capable of as a whole. And what Linde is capable of as a guitarist. Personally, this song is my second favourite, after The Sacrament, and represents a love doomed to eternal damnation, possibly due to it being forbidden (anyone else getting a slight Join Me In Death or Romeo and Juliet vibe from this song?) So, once again, HIM show that they are the greatest band in the world. And once again, Burton shows that he is GOD. |

Firstly, let me say that Burton is GOD. Secondly, this song is a true exhibit of what Burton is capable of as a pianist. Thirdly, this is an amazing song. It flows so beautifully, and the lyrics make me catch my breath. But it is Burton's intro that makes this song so beautiful, makes me listen to it, on repeat, as often as I can, and makes me lose what little sanity I still have, what little sanity has not been taken up by teenage fan-girl-like behaviour. I love everything HIM stands for, but I love Burton more. |
