I can't believe this song isn't commented on, this is such an epic and unbelievable piece of art. I think this song is talking about just having a bad outlook on life. "Silver's just another gold when you're bitter and you're old" Meaning that nothing is special to you, and your life is without fulfillment if you have a negative outlook. |

I think this has something to do with living in the present as opposed to the past. A sun that never sets burns on could mean a sun being your life, that never sets, dwell in the past, burns on, prospers. New light in this river's dawn could mean that if your sun doesn't set (if you don't live in the past) You can begin a new life. This also makes the a time to think back and move on statement make perfect sense. And saying the blood is from the past, not my own, means that he is a new person than he was yesterday. I don't know maybe I'm rambling. |
