the song is about sonny moore, matt said it himself, one of the main reasons sonny had left was cause doing the vocals for fftl was too much for him with all the screaming my guess on the lyric composition, and wording of the song suggest that they tried to plead with sonny to not leave the band and that they would have done anything to keep him in it "Across the world with you The love you never found Was right here all along Waiting here for you" but that if he really did want to leave, that they had no problem with it, and they would still go on without him, but they wouldn't forget him ever. I Too must agree, this is one of my favs from there album, i related to this song cause of one of my ex-bestfriends who ended up being a lie and a fake, to me this song is telling the story of a person who is a fake to the world, someone who lied to everyone so much that they eventually fell into there own world of lies "You created your own little world, Where you could always be different" and one person, in this case the lead singer, has realized that the person has been lying about everything and doesn't want nothing to do with them, and questions that if anyone they knew actually knew the real them "Has anyone ever reached out to you? Has anyone ever seen your real face?" And That They Are Slipping Up And People Are Slowly Realizing Who That Person Really Is "As the one we used to know fades away." |

To Me This Song Is Basically A Story Of A Guy Who Is Madly In Love But The Girl He Loves Is Hollow Inside, And He Doesn't Want To Watch Her Fall Into The Depression Of Her Life But No Matter What He Tries To Do She Just Keeps Falling And Falling More Into It, And Its Driving Him Away Cause He Is Getting Tired Of Trying Fruitlessly And Is Giving Up On Her Once And For All I Kinda Related to this song once i first heard it cause me and my ex are kind of going through this, i was madly in love with her, i could never stand to be away from her, but she just drove me away, and im tired of trying to make her see that there is so much more to life than the pain we feel, so i decided to just give up on her completely |
