Reminder is a short song and not as popular as some of the others, but from of my favorites from Mumford & Sons In my opinion, Reminder is a about what someone goes through after a breakup. Specifically about one person in the breakup still loving the other person but also trying to give them space. The verse.."So I watched the world tear us apart A stoic mind and a bleeding heart You never seen my bleeding heart." Indicates someone to me that considers them selves vapid during the relationship. They regret never showing emotions or love to the other person, and now all these feelings are coming out but they person isn't there to see them. Now they are holding on to all hope that the other person will one day see that they truly love them and that they can try again. Metaphorically they are holding onto the "light" of the other person...they hope that their love will not move on or "fade away" and become just a memory. |

I think overall that outsiders viewed NYC as this place where only the rich and famous lived but as the protagonist wanders though the city he understands that the rich "cannot see the sky" unless they truly see how the "hobos" live. Its interpretation that unless you fully live life, and understand others you will never understand how rich you are... |

"coyotes" is about the one who got away.. Its about a man who lost a girl and now realizes that he infact loves her... this song is his struggle, but yet a confidence that shows "You know I'm coming for you you know we should be should be together" Its a man remember the goodtimes and how they should be together and he is gonna try no matter what....(he is a coyote and coming after her theoretically) but is it too late? (amazing song...it should be your next single jason if you ever read this) |

"Time runs backwards as long as you are heading that way" -i believe that this song is directed to people who live in the past and refuse to change.(there living in a dreamworld)...not reality when he talks about "how can we fail with all that is given?" is mocking those that would rather complain about problems rather than take initiative to fix them. |
