i fully agree with kacheson. i think the subject of the song has been in some screwed up relationships, so they react to anything real and dangerous by running away. but the singer believes this person can overcome the past. |

i like the line "sell a million copies and buy back your love". it sounds like the singer was either dumped or cheated on. she tells all her friends that she hates the ex, but really she's still in love. singer then writes songs with the hope that they will make her famous and successful enough to win back her ex. in the meantime being in love just makes her feel empty. that's i how like to relate to the song, at least. |

"just prefer some kind of contact" should be "desparate for some kind of contact". good job otherwise, considering the song came out a few hours ago. anyway this song is awesome, about being away from the place and person that you love and you can't wait to go back to them. if this is any indication of the rest of the album, Ellipse is going to be absolutely wonderful :) |

i think it's about a guy who got dumped and never got over the girl. and she would lead him on and still sleep with him, stuff like that, but never get back with him even though he really wanted it. and so the whole relationship got painful and unhealthy for him because he is unable to break away from her. so he decides he is never going to let her get too far either. just my take on it. |

this is one of the saddest songs i've heard. it's a relationship that completely failed. and it was something you really wanted, really tried for. but it just didn't work. and i guess the other person doesn't seem nearly as affected. you'd still do so much for this person, but it doesn't matter. "But what would you care Why would you care I am not here, and I am not there." and the other person won't talk about it for some reason, and you're left alone to hurt. "And I can't take this pain When you never call, you never fall, my way." (the album version with strings is gorgeous, and abisha sounds so sad. check out their myspace if you haven't.) |

brilliant song. so many people know exactly how it feels, to see an ex with someone else when you still care about them so much. it's so much harder when neither is over the other. i think they might've broken up because of the girl. maybe she didn't know what she wanted, and thought she might find it with other guys. so our guy tried to forget about her, even though he really cared about her. and it was working, until suddenly he sees her again, and with another man. she's not over him, so of course she talks to him. and she tries to show him how happy she is with her new boy, but he doesn't believe her. it makes him crazy and he has no idea what to do. all he wants is to see her. and he knows if he does, she'll just hurt him more. and it will break him. or maybe i just see myself in this song.. |

tegan and sara are so therapeutic for me. the whole frustrating relationship this song describes is so real. i really don't want to be done with this person, but it's for the best to just get over it. but then you still feel so uncertain. maybe if i had done something different, it wouldn't be like this, it could have been better. this song is great for me. i like that i can express myself with their songs. |
