| well no its not just 'is this blood yours or mine' its also 'is this blood his or mine' ...in every live version he says 'his or mine' and in the studio version he says 'yours or mine' which is an interesting note...changes the meaning of the song drastically but how? | |

first off this song does not soley have to be about love, relationships, or sex goddamn it! it can be but that doesn't adhere to all the lyrics and their meanings.. from the start of this song, rivers sings with a true tone of sorrow, remorse and truly bitter regret.. he states that he wants to "leave" and at the same time want to "stay" showing a sort of necessity to move on from stance in life although he might enjoy it for selfish/sinful reasons.. next, rivers changes to speak on a specific person telling them that they are perfect, everything right but at the same time everything that they cannot have (love or friendship) hence having to mentally move on/physically leave.. the ecstasy reference speaks of the temptation to satisfy these selfish goals..whether they be lustful or bitter he moves on to realize and learn that he must move forward..and he then feels a deeper peace or content-ness his "magic" in him is his ability and power to become content and mentally "complete" he then goes on to speak in a sense of single pride when he says he's flying up so high (he's above everyone, feels he might be better) and his purple majesty is literally showing his majestic pride that he has successfully moved on/went forward he then says that he's reached a higher place, again, this place is a place of reason and freedom he then extends himself to say he would like the person he was speaking of to join him in this new begining (love maybe? or true freedom without social judgement/opression.. overall he ends the song on the note that he has now become successful and has a sense of true pride and content unlike the deep sorrow in the begining of the song |
