| I believe this song may be about her brother... Like I said under the 'Wasted' Song, I think it may reflect how they were closer when they were younger, and though they've been trying, they haven't been able to heal some sort of rift. It fits from what I heard her say about her 'Wasted' song when I heard an interview on NPR a year or two back, when I was first introduced to her. God bless Brandi. | |

This song is the first one I ever heard by her. A few years back she did an interview with NPR and explained this song; it is about her brother, but not the whole alcoholic thing. She said, like, her brother was extremely talented (kind of like Brandi, his sister) but he didn't try to go big and use his gifts 'the right way' but instead just became involved with his church as a worship leader. She was kind of almost bitter about it, when she wrote it, she said. But, in the interview, she says the song does not apply anymore, and her views on her brother have changed, and he's actually fine and she's happy that he's happy. That's a brief, abstract summary of what she said. Lol, I fell in love with her voice that day, then found out who she was. Amazing artist. Amazing. |
