| The Prodigy – Smack My Bitch Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
eh most djs dont really get into what the hell the words mean. im almost sure they just heard the ultramagnetic mcs song and thought, hey that sounds cool. and as far as the original meaning from what i understand kool keith's forte never was to make sense so it's possible it only made sense to him when he was really high. but i think it might be a metaphor of smacking up other rappers with his lyrics like pimps smack their hos. or something. who knows. does it really matter? it's not like this song is promoting violence. do you think some guy is just like "omg prodigy said smack my bitch up, i think i should beat my wife"?? no. songs dont turn you into wifebeaters. its a techno song. most of us never even really paid attention to whether they were promoting or not promoting beating up women until people made a big fuss about it. just let it go. |

| Judas Priest – Better by You, Better Than Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
you have to be on drugs to hear "do it" and you have to be insane to think that means "kill yourself" and you have to be downright suicidal to actually carry that out. so basically these two guys were on drugs, insane, and suicidal. and it's priest's fault they killed themselves? some people man.... |

| Megadeth – Holy Wars... The Punishment Due Lyrics | 17 years ago |
it's simple, it's two songs with completely different meanings but it fucks people up when they try to interpret it as one meaning. holy wars = pretty self explanatory, about the absurdity of wars based on religion, not any specific ones but just in general the punishment due = about the punisher, the marvel comics character. |

| Ozzy Osbourne – Suicide Solution Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| oh and to end the debate, its a metaphorical sort of suicide, which isnt actually suicide in lets say legal terms but in practice its basically suicide. bon scott didnt intend to die, which means its technically not suicide, but on the other hand you can say he chose to drink which is a choice that led to his death, which is a lot like suicide. | |
| Ozzy Osbourne – Suicide Solution Lyrics | 17 years ago |
kay randy died in a plane accident, he didnt die from alcohol. ozzy said it was about bon scott but bob daisley says its actually about ozzy's drinking problem. and suicide solution doenst mean killing yourself is a way to solve a problem... the word solution is used to mean "substance"....get it? alcohol is a substance that will kill you. |

| Ozzy Osbourne – You Looking At Me Looking At You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
from the chorus, the only lyrics i knew, yea, it seems to be about seeing a girl at a bar at whatever and she's checking you out and you wanna get to know each other. but when i read the lyrics i realized it was totally different. it's actually about two people in a relationship who have drifted aparat and for some reason dont even talk anymore and just look at each other. something has gone wrong, things have changed and they just dont talk. second verse he's talking about how even when they touch theyre miles away, and he says they both know it and wonders whos fault it is (is it me or is it you?) he also reflects on how "things are different ... but nothing lasts forever" clearly about his relationship falling apart. last verse he talks about a dream he had about breaking up, how much it would suck, how they should try to work at it to save the relationship from "the final knife" and how then their love would last forever. thats why hes pleading "please talk to me!" at the end. |

| Misfits – Saturday Night Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"I'm coming clean for Amy Julie doesn't scream as well And the cops won't listen all night" he killed amy and julie. he killed amy who probably was his girlfriend and even though he loved her he ended up killing her (for whatever reason). the guy is confessing to the police for his crimes because he feels guilty. he feels guilty over killing amy ("im coming clean for amy") but not julie, because she wasnt as entertaining a kill / maybe fuck ("julie doesnt scream as well"). he then kind of sarcastically mentions that "the cops wont listen all night", basically that he's only gonna talk about amy, who is the reason he's confessing. "And so maybe I'll be over Just as soon as I fill them all in" like i said he's guilty, so kind of flippantly he says "maybe" he'll stop killing just as soon as he tells the cops about what he did ("fill them all in") the rest of the song is pretty straightforward, he misses her and he's crying. the first few lines though, no idea...52 ways to murder anyone? one and two are the same? no idea. |

| Megadeth – Holy Wars... The Punishment Due Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i see a lot of people trying to make sense of this as a whole. thats not the way it is. its two songs: holy wars, and then the punishment due. holy wars: inspired by the north ireland conflict, but about holy wars in general. pretty straightforward. killing for religion, something i dont understand the punishment due: about the marvel character the punisher. |

| Megadeth – 99 Ways To Die Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song is clearly about suicide / death. "Gotta' terminal future, And it's time to write my will." basically im gonna die, i have to write my will "With two feet in the grave. Ain't got no last words to say, Yellow streak right up my spine. The gun in my mouth looked real, And the taste that blew my mind." two feet in the grave = basically dead last words = again, daeth the gun in my mouth...blew my mind = suicide, obviously "In a black tie and straight jacket, Man I'm gonna try again." probably about being commited but wanting to try suicide again "Perhaps a demitasse of arsenic," ingesting arsenic to die "Try on this tie, Nevermind the tree. " hanging yourself by the neck from a tree "Taunting rigor mortis, I feel it draw me in." basically taunting death, about to die. In a black tie and straight jacket, Man I'm gonna try again. Perhaps a demitasse of arsenic, Try on this tie, Nevermind the tree. There is only death and danger, In the socket of my eye. A playground of illusion, No one plays they only die. There's a prison in my mind, And the bars are gonna break. I'm as mad as a hatter, And strung out just the same. Taunting rigor mortis, I feel it draw me in. We're not ready (3x) 99 (3x) |

| Megadeth – Dread and the Fugitive Mind Lyrics | 17 years ago |

there's a bit of a pascal's wager to it, but yes its about a thief. "I've come for your wealth leave you on your knees" "What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine too If you shake my hand better count your fingers" |

| Dio – Holy Diver Lyrics | 17 years ago |
you people are crazy. religious metaphor for drugs??? holy diver is about jack shit. if you look at the cover there's that priest being thrown into the water, im guessing he's the "holy diver" there's some loose narrative about him running away from, the crazy demon looking thing in the back i guess? and maybe there's some crazy tiger that can swim or whatever that the diver is on to escape. its a really weird and non sensical fantasy tale. dont mind it very much. |

| Dead Kennedys – Dreadlocks of the Suburbs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this is a dk song... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_1978_Demos its about guys who dont understand the cultural / spiritual uses that people have for certain drugs ... i.e. peyote and cannabis. and the guy pretends to be enlightened and rastafarian. but all it is is he wants to get high and be cool, just like every other idiot in high school. |
| Dead Kennedys – California Über Alles Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| comes from the german national anthem. it was written before nazism, when germany was not unified. the idea was that the country of germany should come before all the little different tribes. its a call for german unity above secterian ideals. during the nazi regime it was twisted to mean germany above all other countries. now it is forbidden for the association with nazism. | |
| Dead Kennedys – Holiday in Cambodia Lyrics | 17 years ago |
to Harlequin stars "Play ethnicky jazz To parade your snazz On your five grand stereo Braggin' that you know How the niggers feel cold And the slum's got so much soul" im pretty sure your interpretation is incorrect, and i have no idea what stereotype youre refering to which links ethnicky jazz and five grand stereo to, of all people, poor hispanic people. the entire song is making fun of rich college liberal types who think theyre cultured and truly understand the oppressed people but they really dont, since their overprivileged lifestyle is nothing like what real oppressed people face. i know in the 70s some hippies would go to vietnam and talk about how theyre also repressed etc and its kind of ridiculous. its talking about the hypocrisy of rich students buying a hugely expensive stereo to play world music to pretend to be complex or cultured. the rich student is eager to show how much he CARES and UNDERSTANDS oppressed people but its just for show, hes really condescending. he's a fake. hes bragging how he knows how the niggers feel cold but he doesnt know, doesnt care. the use of the word niggers is telling of how much he doesnt actually care and just condescends. |

| Motörhead – Killed By Death Lyrics | 17 years ago |
im pretty sure "killed by death" means killed by the grim reaper, or killed by the angel of death if you will. basically that you wont die unless the angel of death himself comes and kills you. pretty badass if you ask me. |
