Isn't this about some trip he made with Chad and Flea in Alaska or something like that.

The White Stripes – Black Math Lyrics 17 years ago
The song is a refrence to when he turned in his books to one of his math teachers and refused to learn from him, for what reason, i do not know, but i'm pretty sure i read a qoute from him saying that.

Nirvana – About a Girl Lyrics 17 years ago
this song was written after a fight him and his grilfriend. so he wrote this song, and the fact she was complaining about not having a song about her but he wrote one about masterbation. He listened to a Beatle song, can't recall at the moment, but he listened to it over and over to get in the mood for writing this song.

i thought it was about doing drugs despite the consequences

Led Zeppelin – The Ocean Lyrics 17 years ago
love it, i think it's pretty much about the fans, and maybe the mountains refers to lord of the rings, maybe he is done with it, and now he is purely singing about the girl who won his heart

Led Zeppelin – Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Lyrics 17 years ago
and hetfield2k, it's not a babies cry, it's robert plants voice saying, "I Can Hear It Calling Me" very faintly.

Led Zeppelin – Babe I'm Gonna Leave You Lyrics 17 years ago
this is zeppelin in it's purest form. The best I've heard comming from this band. May be my favorite song of all time. Amazing, it's emotional, it's like they capture you, and take you on this ride, and you get into it, and i can't help but sigh in amazment, like a "WOW!" kind sigh.

The White Stripes – Sister, Do You Know My Name Lyrics 17 years ago
i think the analysis is spot on, a literal song about him wanting to know a particilar girl, and at the end, he gets that chance

Led Zeppelin – Ramble On Lyrics 17 years ago
Abosultely amazing song, Sorta sad they did not play this often live. it gets me pumped. i persoanlly think it's one of thier top songs, i think i might even like it more then sairway, though i'd say "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" on thier first album is my favorite of all time

Led Zeppelin – The Rain Song Lyrics 17 years ago
Whay are there even comparisions to Stairway? I didn't even look at Stairway as a ballad, and it was one of the last Zep songs i heard. This songs guitar is nice and peaceful, it puts me in a very creative and good mood

Deep Purple – Lazy Lyrics 17 years ago
I think DP is vastily under-rated as well as Richie Blackmore for that matter.

Nirvana – Something in the Way Lyrics 17 years ago
The song was made b4 his massive popularity, so i don't understand why everyone is making refrences to fans, he wasn't that big at that time.

The White Stripes – Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground Lyrics 17 years ago
I look at it pretty much as a man who wants to leave his girlfriend, but in the end possible regrets doing so. At least that what it seems like when i hear it and when i look at the video.

The White Stripes – Icky Thump Lyrics 17 years ago
I love the political lines, and the video, it was a very current, and controversial issue at the time of it's release, and as a mexican(not illegal, and a US citizen, and accent free, and not that dark, just brown, lol, y am i describing myself) i enjoy his stance on the issue very much. Some of you guys forget how we all got here, though i'm not a fan of illegal immigration, but if they're here, you can't just kick them out.

The White Stripes – I'm Slowly Turning into you Lyrics 17 years ago
bestwombat11, i completely agree with you, and also, the song is called "Where Did You Sleep Last Night", not "In The Pines" by Ledbelly

The White Stripes – Catch Hell Blues Lyrics 17 years ago
Unbelievable in many senses, was one of my favorite tracks on the album, after Martyr and 300 MPH. Lyrics are very simple, but make complete sense

The White Stripes – A Martyr for My Love for You Lyrics 17 years ago
My Favorite at the moment. I look it as a song about a boy who falls for a girl, but knows that he has his own problems to deal with, and doesn't want to ruin this girls life, and take her down with him. He wants to be with her so badly, and has this inner conflict and ultimately decides just to leave her alone. I relate to ths song completely, more then any other, due to some recent events.

The White Stripes – 300 M.P.H. Torrential Outpour Blues Lyrics 17 years ago
One of my favorite Stripes songs, amazing, combining all kinds of blues, and even a little folk. It is all good in the neighborhood. It' pretty clear that it is about three hundred mile per hour, finger breaking, no answers makin', battered dirty hands, bee stung and busted up, empty cup torrential outpour blues

The White Stripes – You've Got Her In Your Pocket Lyrics 17 years ago
one of my favorite songs, and relatable, as many of jack white's songs are

The White Stripes – The Hardest Button to Button Lyrics 17 years ago
"And it was 1981"

i thought it was

"And It Was 1984"

Hardest Button to Button is a refrence to one of his uncles jackets, and there were two buttons he could not button, and i believe jack himself that the top button was the hardest to button. The song is about a boy who has to cope with his new younger brother.

The White Stripes – The Air Near My Fingers Lyrics 17 years ago
he claimed that this is not his favorite song lyricaly in a couple of interviews, but he said he enjoys playing it still. and the line
"But maybe you'll remember this
I never said I wanted to be a man"
i think he says
"I never said i ever wanted to be your man"

The Raconteurs – Consoler of the Lonely Lyrics 17 years ago
It's a very relatable song

The Raconteurs – Attention Lyrics 17 years ago
i agree with the analysis, i think it is about a suductive woman who is nothing more then a tease. I think Jack is writing from a point of view of a guy who is being lead by this women, but is questioning wiether she is just a flirt, or if she is for real. When he tries to make things more serouis, he gets turned down.
