hee hee "shes swearing again" thats funny. so i personally think that it may be speaking on religous people. like around here anyway, you see christian people... not to group all of them together becuase its not just christians... saying to do one thing but do another. and when you call them out they deny it. they don't listen to you when you try to talk. when i talk to my parents, they are impossible. they think they are right and i can do nothing to change their mind. i love this cd! |

first off i love this woman!!!!! she has changed my life!!!! so i think this song is about how all these things we do.... inside our homes... inside ourselves, everything.. manifests itself as bigger problems in the world. so we all want to change the world but we really need to change ourselves and our homes. "There is no difference in what we're doing in here" inside our home/ourselves "That doesn't show up as big as it does out there" self explanitory. "So why spend all our time undressing our bandages" why try to heal when we keep doing the same thing. and also in larger terms, try to fix the world. "when we've the ultimate key to the cause right here right underneath" when the way to fix it all is right here. in ourselves/our homes. fix the root fix the rest. thats what i think anyways. |

i love this album! i agree with the above about how its about living in the world but i also think it is about her journy in life as a whole. like "i start up in the north" she lived in canada. "sprinkle it with sensibility from french and hungarian snow" her parents are french and hungarian. so they are teaching her things... sensibility i guess :) then she moves to europe. and what not... eventually becomes more spiritual. "i fly back to my nest....... every thing is different" she comes back home but she is a different person. so anyways she tells the story of her life in my opinion. my favorite line in this song is "seperating from scource the original sin" like how she used to be catholic... now shes.... "post catholic" as she says... god i love her!!!!! |

i never heard any of his stuff until my friend turned me on to him. i liked him alot. now i feel stupid. like one of the stupid fans. i always assumed that this was about how he was tired of the same shit "babble babble, bitch bitch, rebel rebel, party party, sex sex sex, bla bla bla" like its all the same and nothing ever changes. then the " begining "everythings been said before. nothing left to say anymore...." like its all been said and done... now what. but now i see the whole "stand up and admit, do we get it. no. do we want it. yeah!" like we don't know what it is about but we want it cuz it is him. huh. |
