| Dire Straits – Romeo And Juliet Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| There may already be a comment about this, but this song was inspired by Mark Knopfler's relationship with Holly Vincent. They had a strong relationship but when Vincent gained popularity she tossed Knopfler aside. The line "Now you just says oh romeo yeah you know I used to have a scene with him" is a reference to an interview Vincent gave where she said she "had a scene with Mark Knopfler" before their breakup. She had used him to further her career, which didn't exactly come to fruition. | |
| Anberlin – Miserabile Visu (Ex Malo Bonum) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Yah, bustinloose is totally correct, except for the part about children...they're only innocent when they don't know the difference between right and wrong. I've always felt like children are innocent until they're old enough to register good and bad. But, that's neither here nor there. It's definitely the most spiritual song I've heard and a bold move since Anberlin is such a secular band, but Christian (I assume wrote it) does a great job of masking things, like the "ghosts take hold of the men who died" I guess if someone listens to the song with a carnal mind it makes no sense. The majority of the songs on this album are spiritual, some in greater context than others...I guess that's a reason why it's called "New Surrender" :) |
