| Bruce Springsteen – The Promise Lyrics | 17 years ago |

this song is a mysteri to me... I love it but it has yet to touch my heart, and to do so I need to understand what the promise is. But I reckon that, as every other Springsteen song that is special for me, when the time is right I'll understand. However, I reckon the original reckording is much, much better than the new reckorded version that's on 18 tracks. |

| Bruce Springsteen – Backstreets Lyrics | 17 years ago |

"when the breakdown hit at midnight There was nothing left to say but I hated him and I hated you when you went away" Waiting at the trainstation it all became clear to me that what happens is that Terry dies. Bruce states in this line that he hated God for taking him/her away. Later on he sings "Laying here in the dark you're like an angel on my chest" whitch made it all clearer... This song represents a big change in my life where the girl I was in love with one summer had to go home to her country on the other side of the world... I hated "him" for taking her away from me. |

| Bruce Springsteen – Lonesome Day Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
it's pretty clear that Lonesome day is about the changes the US went through after 9/11. It's all stated in the first line "Once I thought I knew Everything I needed to know about you" After all it's still a song with positive influences, as he says, it's alright |
