i dont think its about his wife.. if anyones heard or knows anything abut their divorce.. corey left her, and hates her pretty bad, whatever happened happened, but it just doesnt seem like this is about her. god its perfect 'its never rwally perfect. judging by interviews, hell never take scarlet back due to whatever it is that she did. just doesnt seem like it could even remotely be about her. and also the line 'now i can finally be myself' it seems like its about someone else, someone who accepted him for every flaw, whereas it seems he didnt have that with his ex wife..or anyone else for that matter that and the divorce wasnt that recent..it was nearly 2 years ago |

it seems again this song is a message to the girl hes writing about in the other songs, gehenna, snuff, i agree nothing too profound but to perhaps her and him. it seems to fit the situation the other lyrics paint a picture of, he walks away from her, with just a smile, it seems a back and forth message, 'i can let you go, or i can take you back' im sure it makes more sense to them.. but it definitely seems like a message to her, somewhat even taunting her. |

it seems as though its partially about the same woman hes speaking of in snuff and gehenna, 'And My Face and My Soul always wear me thin - always under control' he seems to be able to control his emotions, at least fairly well enough, that he can blanket his emotions for her But the longest hours you’ll have in your life Are the ones you sit through to know if you’re right So I’ll wait, but I pray that I’m wrong Because I think I know what’s going on this seems that hes waiting for her to make up her mind, to believe that what is happening is truly going on, and to succumb to her feelings, but his paranoia shows through and he worries that she could be just using him, even if not for monetary gain, just for her own personal needs, perhaps. hes in his own personal state of torment it seems..(so gehenna does fit the song well..in my opinion) again, as i said for snuff, it seems there are many songs on this album about her. he doesnt know what to do, he wants her to fight for him, but doesnt want to -have- to fight for her. shes thrown him into a loop, and perfectly compliments every aspect of him it seems. but he refuses to believe that it could be real 'god its perfect, its NEVER really perfect' it seems shes far enough away that he can continue on pretending she is nothing but a dream. but then he is stuck hoping and having faith that she is, in fact, real, and who she says she is. for as many feelings of love and care that he has for her, it seems hes afraid of committing to those feelings, one day telling her 'my feelings for you are growing' the next 'dont force this, dont rush this, you cant convince me of my own feelings' it seems that once hes ready to fight, and she succumbs as well, he gets afriad and backs out, backs away, cuts off communication until he can no longer allow the dark emotions to overcome him, and he realizes he loves her too deeply. thus in turn beginning the cycle again entirely. |

i agree dreamers, but also, perhaps she is afriad to fight for him as well, because maybe hes just not fighting for her. id imagine shes in the same state of mind as he, that 'if hes not gonna fight for me, how can i even believe he really feels the way he says it seems they have alot to communicate about, but are afriad to bring it up because of what they might find. it seems it`d be easier for them both to let go instead of deal with the uncertainty. but it doesnt look like they could. |

if you listen to the rest of the album and the lyrics. this songs basically is about him being in a halfway there relationship(most likely due to long distance and busy schedules) judging by the rest of the album lyrics, sulfur, vendetta, and gehenna especially, he doesnt know how he really truly feels and neither does she, he hides from her, she hides from him, and neither are allowing themselves to believe what is really happening to them emotionally. 'id rather feel pain, that try to fit in with you anymore' 'tethered to a scene i treasure,can you help me? sever, god its perfect, its NEVER really perfect' it seems like a call for help, hed rather her run away than to know how she really feels, because once he knows that then hes screwed and must face his own emotions, 'you dont always know where you stand, until you know that you wont run away' |
