The woman who is working a crap job in a small town sees someone she remembers from before who has done very well in life. She wants to say hi to him but she is too ashamed that she is still stuck in that small town, and that she never got anywhere in life. She also wants to see the world like him but can't because the town is holding her back in the sense that she's just a poor old woman. Great song. Love pj |

First off just gotta say great song to hear live. I love how eddie sings like he's a different person. Really cool to hear live.
I think that this song is about the fact that if we as people or we as individuals think about ourselves as the best there is then we're gonna lose the one thing that we have that, in a small way, separates us from all other animals - a sense of morals or an ethics system. What was said about all those things by ethong2002 is some good stuff. With our becoming more and more advanced we continue to treat others worse and worse. It's almost like earth would be a lot better without people. A ton of terrible thing happened because of us. Anyway if we continue on this torrid pace of "evolution" and disrespect for everyone and everything around us we're gonna end up killing ourselves. |
