It doesn't mean it's fake just because it didn't happen to Ben Drew...his lyrics can be interpreted as stories from his neighbourhood, things he's heard about. His lyrics are rather obvious but in no way are they bad, he is a great storyteller. Also...if you believe that every song written is true then you're very wrong. It's the ability to tell something interesting (true or untrue, from 1st person perspective or not..)that separates good lyricists from the bad. |

The whole album is a story... the 1000 quid that he goes on and on about, the broken tv, the bloke from tv company, how he meets the girl and later on staying in with her smoking weed. It's like a movie..Love it! |

This song is beautiful. And suits Closer just fine. I always think of a young man I used to love a while ago. Back then it didn't have a special meaning to us but nowdays, every time I hear it, I can almost feel him. Simply beautiful. |

I'm not sure why but whenever I listen to this song (and it's brilliant) I get a sense that it's about loss, maybe a lost life or relationship or maybe even something as trivial as lost fame. I love it, for me it sums up my teen years perfectly. I love Patti's background. |
