its probably more of what viscera eyes said but this song reminds me of someone constantly trying to forget the past fool themselves that everything is good, and time and time again she/he is reminded that its not. somehow i think violet prison is like fools paradise, if u know what i mean. like, violet prisoners are kind of like kids, on a way, happy and innocent. or maybe just people who fool themselves that their life is great and their love is real and so on. and "blood runs cold" beyond it because beyond the dream world there's reality where everything and everyone is cruel and cold. "drowning in cliches so desperate to love," this is about people watching too many movies and trying to act like it in real life, smothering true love with clishes, thinking that it will maker it better, or at least look better. "were twisting every word they say" misinterpreting the things their lovers say to them, and fooling themselves again. or using misinterpretation as an excuse to do things they arent supposed to do. "sleep through the days" could mean how our imagination, creativity and true feeling "sleep through the days" as we replace them with masks, clishes and how we should behave. i dunno, just an idea :D |

ur smart lyvingdeaddoll to me it sounds like the person has lived happily for a long time after escaping a horrible life. and lately something has changed and she has started to remember and possibly re-live the trauma she went through a long time ago. "lately, nothing passes lightly" here 'lately' shows that she hasnt always felt like this. and 'nothing passes lightly' which could mean that everyday things that usually 'pass lightly' have started reminding her of her past. "a heavy hand is holding me down" the heavy hand of her past keeps her depressed and thinking about it. "just close the door" this could be her hopelessly wanting to shut out everyone else as she falls into depression. or it could be her trying to close her mind and stop the painful memories from coming back. "cause its all coming back" yeah, basically, its all coming back. "and praise is just an unfamiliar sound to me" shows how she is going back to her scarred state of mind, where she is never praised and cant imagine it. god i feel sorry for her. haha |

ive always thought there was something evil about the lyrics. "and up until now, youve lived in their shadows trying hard to please them" is said almost accusingly. "but they'll never change, as long as theyre breathing" which sounds like the person speaking is hinting that he/she does not like people and lots of experiencehas lead her to this conclusion. almost like she/he was an aged serial killer or something. to me it sounds like the speaker is subtly persuating the innocent and -probably broken and scarred by his/her messed up life- victim to suicide or letting her kill him/her " ill cast you a spell, a magic where everyone plays dead forever." thats what it makes me think of, probably not the purpose of the song though. remember ,,, im just a dumbass compared to u guys |
