I was a bit put off by the intro at first as well. But the somewhat repetitive intro just builds builds builds...isn't it like the way that crush builds, the anticipation builds when you're looking forward to something? It fits the song perfectly...the whole thing is anticipation, not payoff. I also like how when Ben finally starts to sing, the music drops back to almost nothing. Lovely, but creepy, song. |
