Jay And The Lovebirds – When Sunflowers Aren't Around Lyrics 17 years ago
It's obviously about really digging a chick.
Shit, I'm pretty sure I know who its about too.
Damn, I'm surprised at how much recognition they are starting to get. I can remember passing flyers around attempting to help promote them in our shit hole town.

Bright Eyes – Devil Town (Daniel Johnston cover) Lyrics 17 years ago
I've always really related to this song.
Obviously other people may interpret it differently, but that's half the beauty of music.
By 'vampires' I always felt that it was just a metaphor about deplorable people who just suck the life out of you. And in the end realizes he is no different. I feel it really describes where I live. Everyone here just fucks one another over, theres no such thing as lasting friendship here. I used to think I was so different then everyone else, and above them but in time realized I'm really no different.

Bright Eyes – Spent on Rainy Days Lyrics 17 years ago
I love this song it's one of my favourites. The first half of the song basically sums up my life.

and by the way hak, I doubt you'll read this. But I always got the feeling that by 'match' he meant not a lighter but when you bring some drugs and someone else brings about the same ammount and you just get blitzed together,

Bright Eyes – Neely O'Hara Lyrics 17 years ago
I adore this song. I have to say its in my top ten songs by Bright Eyes, And enough with this Neely Jenkins stuff, alot of people have the same first name. It's obviously a reference to Valley of the Dolls. I personally always found it to be about just someone succumbing to substance abuse, eating issues, or whatever self-destructive behaviour they decided to engage in, going in way too deep and not even being able to recognize who they are anymore.

Against Me! – Thrash Unreal Lyrics 17 years ago
Fuck off with this "OH THERE SELL OUTS BULLSHIT." They are not sell outs. Just because they have a fan base of more than 500 people and are actually able to pay their bills with their music, does not mean they sold out. Who cares if music is popular? Or punk? Or hardcore? Or whatever fucking genre and label you want to throw on it. Who cares as long as it sounds good. Music isn't about being pretentious, it isn't about being more 'indie' and 'edgy' then the next person, it isn't about whatever genre you want to label it. It's about the sound and what you feel when you hear it. People need to stop being so pretentious and get back to what really matters, the music. The feelings it envokes in you, the fun times you have rocking out like a maniac, the adrenaline you feel freaking out at a show. You pretentious cunts make me absolutely sick, you go on and on about how this bands a sellout and this bands a sellout, just because theire sound changes a bit. It's called progress. I'll admit I do enjoy their older music more, but that doesn't mean that their new album isn't good either.
