I don't think Taylor is very mature...I mean, she's an amazing artist, don't get me wrong...but you can only write about heartbreak for so long, before it gets old. and I like her music-i'm not bashing her...its just, well, when you look at the lyrics to her songs...its like, okay, if they keep leaving you...obviously you're doing something wrong.
but, this is a good song. Its about when you're fifteen and, you meet your first love and everything seems to be going great...and then it ends, and its cool that she gives advice to girls younger than her. Because, a lot of people in high school worry about having a girlfriend or a boyfriend--and, its really not about having a boyfriend--they've fallen in love with having a boyfriend instead of who the bf is...its the idea of having another person...if that makes sense. at some point, everyone realizes that its not what hs is all about. :) |

To me, this song represents that it's okay to be single...you know, not focusing on having a boyfriend or girlfriend...and not being fixated on the IDEA of having someone special to fill that void in your heart. Love will happen in time, don't go searching or hunting for someone to love you. |

I really enjoy this song (not just because the of the Jonas Brothers lol)
but I love the meaning behind the song...it's about dreading the end of a relationship. It kind of reminds me of on the outside looking in...and it's about realizing everything you had-and appreciating and finding the greater purpose. I relate to it a lot, because I dated my best friend-and we'd been best friends since we were in diapers-and i dated him...and i realized that I liked him just as a friend-we were better off as friends...and I was so scared of ending the relationship out of fear that things would be different and that we wouldn't be the same. Even though the relationship ended (eventually), we never really gave up on each other. We're still best friends and we haven't gone our separate ways-we've grown even closer. and, it can be hard just being friends with someone you broke up with-but if you really want to make it work, it will. That's how I think of this song. |

This is my favorite cover and...ultimate recording of this song...when Al Green sang this, you can feel the emotion and soul that's going into this song. A lot of artists have tried to sing it like him...but, there's no comparison. I first heard this song on an iTunes Celebrity Playlist...I believe, Nikki Reed--maybe. This song, is actually about Drew. Drew is the best friend that she liked, but he would always talk to her about the other girl he liked. Well, drew and his girlfriend split up, then went to visit Taylor at her house, and said "Are you still interested?" and she wrote this song...it's about, hoping and believing that something will happen...but then later you realize that's what you wanted at the time, and now, things have changed.Too much damage has been done. I went to their Burnin' Up Concert in Detroit, MI...and when they played most of their new and deeper songs...I cried-when ALBL came on, I was a wreck...and then they played this and dedicated it to their dad (which is cool, b/c of the story behind that)...but, i mean, I cried after the first verse and when i heard "i don't want to fall asleep..." and the girls in back of me were like "O.M.G when are they gonna sing Camp Rock?!" ...i was like, 'you really have no idea what they're singing about, do you?!'...lol. |

i love this song...the first time i heard it was at a jonas brothers ama after party free concert-and I started crying...not because "joe jonas is so sexy when he sings twenty four" or because "nick's curls were sooo cute"...but because of the emotion evoked when you sing these words. i went directly home and gushed about the concert, then ran upstairs and downloaded it off itunes...it's an essential growing up anthem-ballad. For me, it brings tears to my eyes because...it's so beautifully written and crafted, and it represents looking back at your life and realizing that you have nothing to show for it and all the success that you thought you had, well...theres really nothing to show for it. I love this song, its easily one of my favorites. and i compared the two versions-and the jb version wasn't bad, but i prefer the switchfoot live version. |

i love this song-it's so fitting. i think it's about when a girl is broken...that sounds very strange-but when a girl's spirits or dreams or heart is broken...and she meets a boy, and the boy has to pick up the pieces and mend it. well...he chooses to or not. but, its on the soundtrack of my life. haha. Demi Lovato covered this song (she re-wrote parts of it to make it work for a guy...but of course you can't change the chorus), but its awesome, so if you look it up on youtube...its exquisite. what some people don't know is that this isn't the original lyrics! They recorded this song-nick was actually set to record this solo, and then the lyrics "how long will i be waiting, to become a better man" as opposed to the current "how long will i be waiting to be with you again?"
the original recording is before nick hit puberty, and it was a great song--because joe and kevin joined in...but it was strange to hear a young boy singing about love...but it was still a great song.

i was just reading some of the comments...and people keep talking about how nick had a spazz attack in this song or he had a bunch of voice cracks...i have two things: you people get off your butts and look away from the moniter and go sing every single day around the world without going home in over 7 months! and after and between concerts-record an album! see what it does to your vocal chords!!
and also, joe and Nick both wrote it. They had similar experiences dealing with it...I'm not gonna do the speculation about who it's about...but when nick sings it, you can feel the pain and regret and his remorse when he sings the words...it's a very emotional song for him. He actually cried when he sang it during recording-the lyrics run deep for him. as for who it's about...i don't think its any of our business...what ever happened to just enjoying the music? |

when i get into fights with my family and i get the silent treatment, "beggin to hear your voice, tell me you love me too..." that line means more to me than anything in the world...
and I'm sixteen right now, and I've been in love with my best friend Joe, since we met at daycare when we were only 4 months old...and growing up with him, I've truly loved him. and I want to be with him so bad, but i can't...because he doesn't feel the same way. and it's hard-because I can't have him and "don't wanna fall asleep, cuz i don't know if i'll get up...don't wanna cause a scene, but i'm dying without your love...beggin to hear your voice, tell me you love me too..." i just love this song.
it's about loving someone so deeply and wanting them so bad, it hurts that you can't have them. i think it's deeper than just a crush level...the emotion that goes into the song and lyrics...it's loving someone...

for me it's quite the opposite! I listen to them because I relate so deeply with their music. I'm such a lyricist...and I love this song and pretty much every song they've ever played and written. This new album is probably my favorite out of all 3-i've been listening to them since "It's about time"-and i like them getting into heavier darker stuff...this record is pretty much about heartbreak and I like it-it's symbolizing that they're growing up with the fans, the fans aren't outgrowing them...we can still relate to them and sing at the top of our lungs! I think Burnin' Up was the track that really...i guess was the song to listen to when we were overwhelmed by emotions-because that was the song that was the fun dancey song, and ultimately ends up being the light fun song on the record. |

I love this song. I first heard it on Degrassi The Next Generation...for JT Yorke's memorial tribute. Like most loyal Degrassi fans, I was crying my eyes out.
Although, when our school grieved the deaths of two beloved seniors, within two weeks of each other, I remembered this song. I remember being so confused about death, and thinking it wasn't fair and that kids my age weren't supposed to die this early...I just cried. it's hard, dealing with grief and this song...it's basically saying "present your friends and family with their eulogies now, because they won't be able to hear how much you love them from inside a coffin."

This is an emotional song for me...because I think about high school. I'm a junior now, and it's crazy because...I'm already thinking about graduation and saying goodbyes and moving to different places...and, this song is about celebrating the good and bad, and saying goodbye. I always listen to this song at the end of a school year...because, it makes me think about everything that happened that year and what went wrong, and the past is the past, and mistakes have been made. I love this song, and I always will.
I do agree with the relationship aspect of it. my exboyfriend, and my bestfriend, and I listened to this song a few days ago, and we didn't speak, we just remembered the time that we were dating and how the breakup was unpredictable, and things just didn't go right. but, everything happens for a reason. and it's a lesson. |
