In my opinion, is about a beautiful woman... "Got a flip-top pack of cigarettes in her pocket Feeling good at the top Shopping in sharp shoes Walking in the sunshine town feeling very cool" ...who gets everything she wants from almost anybody, in this case, Apples and Oranges... "Getting everything she wants from the supermarket stores Apples and oranges Apples and oranges" ...and the singer or character just looks at her while she is socializing with other people in town, maybe falling in love of her, or just feeling very attracted... "Cornering neatly she trips up sweetly To meet the people She's on time again And then I catch her by the eye then I stop and have to think What a funny thing to do 'cause I'm feeling very pink" ...and maybe (just maybe) he follows her in his truck, though she doesn't know, and watches her, giving the apples and oranges to ducks in the river, maybe her hobbie, i don't know...
