i really love bss.. ive seen them live a couple times.. and i really love kevin drew's lyrics.. i think that he always writes lyrics vaguely to inspire listeners to create their own interpretations. it's almost as if he's deliberately hiding things to force the listener to find something meaningful and incredibly personal. it's funny that the vagueness has such a psychological impact. the epic nature of the music (and many other bss tunes) seem to make it even more cinematic and animated. |

the main thing that pops into my head is his newfound sobriety.. addicts usually tend to neglect several areas of their well being (both physical and mental). it's almost like this song is a reflection of several aspects of his recovery. |

all i know to be true is that the strongest catalyst for his pre-TW#s drug addiction was crack + dilaudid. he was also drinking ridiculous amounts of vodka. when addicts have more than one vice they tend to do all kinds of drugs, so i'm pretty sure he was using ketamine.
it's interesting to me because as long as i've been using drugs i have never even seen ketamine. i used to live in east nashville, very very close to him, and crack was rampant. dilaudid + oxycontin were attainable.. but i never saw ketamine. even when i was living in detroit i never saw it. heroin houses and all. |
