| Amy Winehouse – Between The Cheats Lyrics

Rather than 'then go home and catch the chips you got', it's 'then go home and cash the chips you got'. Also, instead of 'done defeat', I think it could be 'dumb defeat'. Not sure about that though. I also think raisedbywolves is right about the green eyes thing.
Obviously a song about Blake. Quite a sad song really. She loved him a lot. |

Yeowza - I am in total agreement with you. That was an incrediable interpretation. I never knew what to make of this song. I always knew it was one of my favourites, but I never had any idea what on earth he was on about. What you've said here makes an awful lot of sense.
Really great interpretation and like Pshh said, it has totally changed how I listen to the song. |

| OutKast – Hey Ya! Lyrics

I find it funny how some people on here are saying this song is "so over" when it is widely considered one of the best songs made in the last 10 years.
It's extremely contemporary and a classic pop song. Andre plays most of the instruments in the song and wrote all the lyrics. Technically the song is almost perfect. People say things like, "it's pretty good for a rap song" or "I don't usually like rap, but this is really good" when this song is a lot better than most alternative or indie music out there. Andre drew inspiration from bands of the past (the Ramones, Buzzcocks and The Smiths) and has created a perfect pop song - and I mean pop in the real sense. When we think of pop nowadays, we think of rubbish made for tweens. This song is a throwback to when pop music was edgy and cool, like in the days of the Beatles and the Stones. That's why I think it's one of the best songs ever made and definitely one of the best, if not THE best, of the last decade.
A great, great song. |

I know, right. If it was entitled "Ur so Black" there'd be uproar and it'd never get played on the radio. |

| Jay-Z – Takeover Lyrics

I like Jay-Z and everything, but Nas shits all over him. Sorry. Jay-Z never has and never will make an album as good as Illmatic. If Nas never made anything else ever again, that album would still bring him above Jay.
Nas is the best around. Jay-Z only ever talks about money and women. Nas talks about real life, with amazing lyrics. |

| Nas – Hate Me Now Lyrics

Awesome song. Nas is soooo good. I hate all the people who love rock music and constantly go on about how the lyrics are so deep and more meaningful than anything in rap music. It's such bullshit. I love both alternative music and rap, and I still think Nas is a better lyricist than most alternative musicians out there. They only people I rate above him are John Lennon, Dylan and Lou Reed.
Nas is brilliant. |

| Lily Allen – The Fear Lyrics

The best song Lily Allen's ever written. Really, really good. I wasn't ever really a fan of hers. Her previous songs were catchy but nothing great and I just kinda forgot them after a while. But I'm very pleasantly surprised with this. She's done a good job here. I like how she's taken her experiences of being famous and turned them into such a great song. She's a very witty lyricist. |

| Katy Perry – I Kissed a Girl Lyrics

This is such shit. She's just using the gay lifestyle to garner attention. She's admitted herself that she's never even kissed a girl. It's pathetic really. She obviously has no dignity otherwise she'd be embarrassed to put something like this out. So stupid that people are actually buying into it too. Come on people!!! Have some sense!! |

You might not like pop music but you can't deny that Britney Spears is good at what she does. She's a great popstar and this is one of the best pop songs ever released. It's really great. It's the song every popstar wishes they had made and have been trying to emulate ever since it came out. No doubt about it. |

I love the shot gun sound near the end when she says "I got somethin' for y'all"! This is a proper man-bashing song. Love it, love it, love it! |

| Katy Perry – Ur So Gay Lyrics
|
Yeah, maybe she meant it as just a bit of fun and there was no malice intended but it's still sort of implying that there is something wrong with being gay which, of course, there absolutely isn't. I know what you guys mean when you say that people are always going to be discriminatory against minorities and that's just the way it is and we have to deal with it. However, I firmly believe that the more we put up with it and the more we accept it as part of modern society the more we allow it to grow. This song is supporting that ignorant part of society.
Some people might say that I'm taking the song too seriously, but I think that these lyrics are proof that some people don't take things seriously enough. |

This song is really fantastic. I've only recently taken an interest in Eminem. Rap music would usually be my scene but I'm trying to be open-minded! :)
He's a really wonderful lyricist and rapper I've discovered though. It flows really nicely.
I think he's one of the most influential musicians in popular music. I love the lines about the school shoot ups and Middle America. Really great. |

This song is a modern classic. It's one of my favourites ever. It's so fitting for a time when it's almost fashionable to be constantly checking in and out of rehab. It came along at the right time. This song will be looked back on as an all-time great. |

| The Doors – Break on Through (To the Other Side) Lyrics

This song is really good. I always think of it whenever someone is talking about the Vietnam war....for some reason.... But yeah, it's definitely about drugs. I didn't like the movie about The Doors. Thought parts of it portrayed Jim Morrison in a very bad light, and it was a bit inaccurate. People are better off to just read biographies about th band. Film makers always twist things. |
