One of the best road songs ever.As much as I moan and complain about SoCali,I could never leave her.Smog,traffic,high rent......but also perfect weather year round,palm trees,and you can drive from the snow in the mountains to the coast in an hour.Mike's found peace in his life.As much of a tough guy that he is,deep down he's a lover not a fighter.One of my favorite live tracks. |

At first,I thought this song was about meeting "the one"and they were gonna take you home and take care of you.After years of listening,I'm convinced Mart wrote a little biography of Dave in this song.Ambiguous just enough,but I think it's about growing up without direction,becoming a rock star,getting caged into the lifestyle,getting hooked on heroin,the deadliest trap ever laid,despairing that death is your only true friend.Dave was having his hardest times when Mart was writing the songs for Ultra.My favorite overall DM song. |

The best DM love song IMO.No real undertones,and for me,the brightest spot on the BC album.He loves this person,and wants a private evening with just the two of them,no interruptions.He may not have confided or confessed everything to this person yet,but he will give himself completely over this night=surrender.Home=heaven in the Martin Gore songbook. |
