this song is a reference to another musician/song. Creedence Clearwater (Revival) and their song Lodi. The 'girls' name isnt Elodie, its spelled out as L-o-d-i. When looking at the lyrics to Lodi, it all kinda goes together, namely the chorus being "I'm stuck in Lodi again". Basically, how I take it is that Creedence loves his friend Lodi, doesn't make a move, but is basically stuck on this one part of his life. It's only after he is stuck on Lodi he is able to move on with his life by getting a different job, moving to his own place, etc. Thats just my take on it though. |
