I think at the beginning Jens is with this girl (the you in "you're looking..") but the relationship is coming to an end and he wants out ("i have already lost patience"). Then, at the demonstration, he sees this girl from his youth (emily) who he once loved but "back then she was somebody's girlfriend" and he was "no one" to her. And when he sees her again it's the "sweet sensation of love" because suddenly he's 16 again and those feelings come rushing back. Wether or not he actually get together with Emily I have no idea, and I don't think it's necessarily important either. In my opinion it's a song about idolizing and adoring someone from afar, and maybe that's exactly what he's doing that time at the demonstration as well, and nothing really changed over the years. |

I have to agree with what you all said about how hard it is to translate this song. It's a shame, cause I would like to show the whole world this lyrics, since they are simply amazing. Unfortunately, you need to understand swedish to see the real beauty of it. The song is obviously about taking the step out of school and into the "real" world, and the white hat is referring to the student's cap. But is the man in the white hat Jocke himself, or a friend? For me, it changes from times to times. One second I'm sure that it's about someone else, that Jocke is thinking back at the time with this person. In the other second I'm sure that it's about Jocke himself, and that the lines about "the boy I never knew, who walked on streets which I never saw, and had thoughts I never had.." is about not knowing oneself at all. But the line "och tänkte tankar jag aldrig tänkte" kinda ruins that theroy. I would like to add two couple of live verses who no one mentioned yet, but I won't try to translate them since I don't want to ruin them.. I think the title Spökstad/Ghost town refers to Eskilstuna, where the members of Kent grew up, and small towns in general. "Jag är född i en spökstad/I am borned in a ghost town där alla vet att jorden är platt/where everyone know that the earth is flat" I think that lines mean that people are too indifferent to question what they hear.. |

Beror väl på vad man menar med nonsens. Inte lika givande som många andra Kent-texter, nej. Men eftersom det genomgående temat i DOJD är uppväxten, så antar jag att det här kan handla om olika förebilder eller helt enkelt bara personer som på något sätt förknippas med deras/Jockes uppväxt. Max 500 är förövrigt en svartklubb i Eskilstuna där Kent spelade långt innan dom fick skivkontrakt.. |

I don't think they regret recording it, cause they played this song live a couple of times this summer tour. Jocke has said that it's about his girlfriend living far away from him, and she was nothing but a phone for him during that period. And he knew that she always drank coffee while talking to him on the phone, and she drank it so slowly that it became cold.. |

Partly, I think this song is about a relationship, but I also belive that it's about the whole generation, like someone said before me. In the Kent documentary (Så nära får ingen gå) Jocke says something like: "[Eskilstuna]..it was a city where you always had to look over your shoulder. You had to be careful not to be too special, to be ordinary was the most beautiful thing you could be" (not a exact translation). Do anyone see where I want to come? In the end, you become like everybody else, when you have no strength to fight left.. |

I do agree with what you others have said before me, the lyrics in this song is one of the worst written by Jocke. I'm not a huge fan of the swedish lyrics for this song either, even if it's better than the english. Jocke said in a swedish interview that Bianca is about peoples expectations to be something big without doing anything. Also, he said that it's a political song. Since the translation's pretty much the same, about all these material things, I guess that the english version tells the same story. |

Jag kan inte låta bli att tänka på en våldtäckt när jag hör den här låten. "De pratar om dig via kortvåg" - polisradio? Älskar låten. Den biten som intresserar mig mest är just: "Och jag minns ingenting som hände Men jag kallsvettas ändå VM i att hålla färgen Tyck synd om mig Jag är ensammast i Sverige" Jag har två tolkningar utav just dom raderna (andra har säkerligen ännu fler). Antigen är det om att ha skapat sig en roll, eller blivit påtvingar en roll, och sedan vara tvungen att hålla fast vid den, oavsett hur läget ser ut idag. Skulle också kunna vara precis som det låter, att alltid behöva "hålla färgen" och låtsas att allt är bra, när det egentligen inte alls är så.. |
