| Silversun Pickups – Growing Old Is Getting Old Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Starlight, as much as I agree with your interpretation, the last paragraph isn't really necessary. I do agree that music this great can't be made by people who don't think for themselves. But believing in God or Jesus doesn't mean a person doesn't think for themselves, and not believing doesn't mean they do. That's prejudice, and it doesn't help anyone. | |
| The Notorious B.I.G. – Notorious Thugs Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| You're garbage. Bone Thugs have a unique style, they rap melodically and combine it with fast speed to make probably one of the most challenging deliveries in the game, and they're still going while most of their contemporaries are out of the game for whatever reason. That's how they managed to come out of the Midwest at a time when almost everybody else was from the East or West Coast. So don't dis them just cuz you prefer more simplistic shit. | |
| Bad Religion – I Want to Conquer the World Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Basically the verses are him criticizing the efforts of all of these people, and the chorus says that he'd do it better. But, as with so many Bad Religion songs, there is an element of sarcasm and satire involved. The chorus is mocking those who want the power so they can make everything "right" by exposing how ludicrous that idea is. | |

| Face it. We Are All Posers. | |
| Ramones – Blitzkrieg Bop Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| And you are obviously a johnny-come-lately to the idea of sarcasm. Seriously, his post is so obviously sarcastic it's depressing that you didn't notice. | |
| Rise Against – Six Ways 'Till Sunday Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
It's about someone who used to be honest with themselves and listen to other people, who know has decided to fit in with the angst-filled adolescent rebel-without-a-cause shtick. Because they're "speaking out" and drowning out everyone else's voice, they think they're better. But in reality, all they do is fake because they don't actually know what need is. For those of you who think they identify with the "angst-filled adolescent" line, realize that you're the ones Tim is criticizing. The last stanza is mocking those who rebel to fit in, since they're being hypocritical and not actually accomplishing anything. If you really want to rebel and make a difference, shut your mouth and do like typhon90 said: grab some spray paint, a sign and a stick and go do something. |

| All That Remains – The Weak Willed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| The band's basic style may be melodeath, but this particular song has death metal written all over it. | |
| Lostprophets – 4 AM Forever Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Based on both the lyrics and the video, I'm thinkin it's not about anyone's death. In the video the girl's inside the house and he's sitting on the doorstep. So it's just after he had a falling out with someone really close to him, and he just wants time to end because he can't believe what happened. He starts thinking that there was problems goin way back but instead of saying something he just let his friend slip away. Then in the chorus his pain turns to anger wanting to know why they went from being so close to being so distant, but also accepting it, saying "goodbye you'll never know." In the second verse he hopes for some kind of reconcilliation in the future, and that they'll understand each other eventually and they won't let this kind of thing happen again. "4 AM forever" there's 2 possiblities. Maybe this happened at 4 AM and he wished it would stay 4 AM forever so it won't happen. Also 4 AM is a pretty depressing time, so he's maybe thinking that he won't feel happy now that his friend has left him. The main point is that all of a sudden someone who was really close to him doesn't want him around anymore and he's shocked, disbelieving, hurt, and angry. He either wished it would stay 4 AM forever or feels like it's 4 AM forever. The fact that a band can put so many different emotions into a song while still rockin hard shows how great lostprophets is. ps for those who think its "Lost Prophets" or something ur wrong its "lostprophets" |

| Rise Against – Voices Off Camera Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's about not wanting to be controlled, about wanting to live your own life, and wanting to do that without people trying to baby-sit you the whole way. "Can you hear the desperate cries that are calling out your name? Twisting your arms, holding out their hands and tugging at your sleeve Do you feel this underlying sense of urgency or are you as blind as me?" All kinds of people are trying to tell him what he should do. They're desperate for him to listen to them, but he can't see the reason for their sense of urgency. "I hit the ground and I'm still running but I need a place to stay tonight. I swear I'll be gone in the morning I just need somewhere now." He can't stand all the different things that people are telling him, so he tries to escape it. He turns to someone for refuge, saying he just needs somewhere for a short time. "I can't stand the thought of losing I dread the attention winning brings. And ever since the day I came I can stand without your strings. I'm so sick of all these people but I'm scared to be alone. And if this life has taught me anything i've forgotten long ago." He doesn't want to be a loser, but he doesn't want a spotlight. He just wants to be normal, and he doesn't need anyone's help. He's sick of the people around him but it's better than being alone. And he feels there's nothing to be learned from a life like this. "The heart is something you can't control. We either choose to follow or be left on our own. So we're leaving here on a less-travelled road. As desperate cries grow louder, I know we're getting close, getting close." He's going to follow his heart, wherever it leads him. It's a 'less-traveled road' because so few people do it. As the people trying to control him get louder and more desperate, he knows he's following his heart right. |

| AFI – Prelude 12/21 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
End of the world? I have to disagree. The album is *December*underground; December 21st (12/21) is the beginning of winter. It's a clever way of naming the intro to the album. "Miseria Cantare -- The Beginning" from Sing the Sorrow is the same way. "Miseria cantare" means "sing the sorrow," so the song title means "Sing the Sorrow -- The Beginning." The band doesn't like to do things the way everyone else does. That's what makes them great. The song itself I think is in fact a message from Davey Havok and the rest of AFI to the fans. It's to all the fans: the fans that left because they believed AFI sold out as well as the fans that stayed faithful. The first verse is just a general statement. "This is what I brought you this you can keep This is what I brought you may forget me I promise to depart just promise one thing." Everyone who listens to AFI can keep whatever they get from it. It's not about the band, it's about the fans, and what the band can do for the fans. The second verse is for the faithful fans. "This is what I brought you this you can keep This is what I brought you may forget me I promise you my heart just promise to sing." He's bringing his songs, and saying that if we have the songs, then he's not as important. He promises to give us his heart as long as we promise to sing. The third verse is for the unfaithful fans. "This is what I thought I thought you'd need me This is what I thought so think me naive I promise you my heart you promise to keep." He thought they'd need him, but apparently they didn't so he feels naive. He promised them his heart and they promised to keep it, but they haven't. "Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep." This is the mantra throughout the song. He wants all the fans, new and old, to care about the band. They want a connection with the fans; that's the basis of the Despair Faction. Hopefully all your curiousity has been satisfied. |

the second verse sounds more like: Tear down those mighty walls, reinvent the way you talk Look ahead, now down below Or high above, where angels float |

| Three Days Grace – Pain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| he's sayin he'd rather hurt than feel numb. some people take that feeling to the point of cuttin themselves or whatever, but the only thing actually bein said in the song is that he's tired of not feeling, he's tired of not havin any emotion for anything around him, and when he sees somethin he'd rather feel pain than nothin at all. he doesn't like feeling numb. | |
