Okay, I'm not sure the lyricist's meaning when they wrote this song, but I do know what this song says to me about my current situation. A year ago I moved here to the beach. I really can't stand it here. To many people it would be "paradise," but ever since I've had to move here my life has become nothing what I have wanted it to be. "She saw herself give in" I gave in and moved here with my family, when I could have chosen to fight it and stay in a place on my own. "She slowly swallows all her fear and soothes her mind with lies. Well all she wants and all she needs are reasons to survive." My lies are that I keep telling myself everything's going to be alright and that I'm going to get out and live the life I want. And everything I want and need are my reasons for not giving up and ending it all. These lies are helping me survive. There are many other connections I can make, but in short, this song means a lot to me. |
