| Ok, TheLastLaugh666m/, if im such a retard to listen to PATD then why are you looking up their songs? your then one who has gone out of your way, read the song, analyse it and then read my post... so then why are you critising me??? I was just thinking up shit as i went along and you are CLEARLY the one the a problem, because you are critising people opinions for no reason other than to make yourself sound important and smart. Your 17... aren't you a little old to be saying things like that. Fair enough that you have your own opinions (as i have mine) but theres no need for you to be rude to someone you don't even know. Grow up a little and maybe then people (like me who have never met you) might not think your an up yourself prick. | |

I kind of made a connection with London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines when it said: The weather today is "Slightly sarcastic with a good chance of A. Indifference or B. Disinterest in what the critics say I kinda thought weather meant critics, and they still don't give a damn about what the critics say?" totally right on i think!!!! gd job applehxcsauce ! :) |

Ok this is just a massive guess coz i really am trying to get the gist of this song, so tell me what im wrong wiv and just tell me wtf it means!!! ok here i go.. "Innocence. Sunk the glow and drowned in covers, send for all your absent lovers things." This is someone cheating. Their claiming innocence in an ideal situation but their the love (glow) for their partner is lost in the bed cover and they are asking to send the absent partner their belongings but it not materialsing. "Sheepish Wolves. Looking lived in eating buttons, Wink, just don't put your teeth on me." Im thinking this is in referal to the first verse. The saying "a wolf in sheeps clothing" is coming to mind. their sneaking around with the new lover secretly, and the button thing is rippin outfind out about the lover. off the clothes in lust. the wink thing is saying that they are dont want physical indercators so that their partner doesn't find out about the lover. you gathering this guys... ok... "Accidents. Let the evening in the backdoor, filled the room ceiling to the floor." ok this is them nearly getting caught and the lover escaping through the backdoor but the tension and fear of being caught is still in the room, "filled the room ceiling to the floor" the evening is reference to the lover being the evening partner while the real partner is the day "job". "Beat backbones. Grazed the poem and made it strange, I wasn't born to be a skeleton." The partner finds a poem from the lover and realises what it is. The partner feels the love is dead (skeleton) when it should feel new and alive (I wasn't born to be a skeleton) "Go on, grab your hat and fetch a camera. Go on, film the world before it happens." ok i just had a thought of this song refering to the suspision of a partner and they are paranoid of their partner cheating on them: "Go on, grab your hat and fetch a camera. Go on, film the world before it happens" is saying "go on, follow her/him make up a story in your head of what he/she is doing when your not there." but back to my original theorey, Its saying "catch them in the act". "Jealous orchard. The sky is falling off the ceiling while I'm tucking fibs into a cookie jar." Jealousy is plauging the partner (the one thats being cheated on) and the saying "the sky is falling" also comes to mind. His/her world is crashing down around him in his/her home life. The cheater is telling comforting lies to keep the partner happy. "reverie. It's useless searching in the cupboards when everything you have is on your back. " In a dream, its useless for the partner to try to make the best of the situation... their love is cheating, the cheating is going to follow them everywhere: "when everything you have is on your back." yeah... i dunno i have a wandering mind and come up with random shit. it doesn't really keep with the HAPPY tone of this wonderful album but what do you think??? :P |

Come on guys! Geez it's just an intro song!!! far out a lot of you are looking into it WAY too much. The meaning is exactly what they are saying: Oh, how it's been so long. We're so sorry we've been gone. We're were busy writing songs for... you! You don't have to worry 'cause we're still the same band. You don't have to worry, you don't have to worry, you don't. You don't have to worry, you don't have to worry, you don't. Their saying that even though their sound has changed, their still the same band. Far out theres been some crazy ass comments on this song. Just relax guys!!! :) |

Tonight, tonight, you are, you are a whispering campaign. I bet to them, your name is "Cheap", I bet to them you look like shh... Talk to the mirror, oh, choke back tears. And keep telling yourself that,"I'm a diva"... well wat do ya think about my stuff guys? oh adn i agree with you, CourtneySue , with the "Maybe she was asked more than once to leave her coat with the doorman. Like, upon arrival she realised she was underdressed and didn't want to take her coat off." totally right!!! |

ok, the "cancer" bit is refering to him being deadly, in the sense of destoying her personally: "I'm the new !cancer!, Never looked better, you can't stand it. Because you say so under your breath. You're reading lips, "When did he get all confident?" Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer, Never looked better and you can't stand it." He is destroying her reputation by placing her in an enviroment that she just doesn't belong in: "Please leave all overcoats, canes and... top hats with the doorman. From that moment, you'll be out of place and under dressed. I'm wrecking this evening already and loving every minute of it. Ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring and.....When you're in black slacks with accentuating, off-white, pinstripes, whoa-oh Everything goes according to plan." Shes turned up at a function and noticed that he is there and it ends up putting her on edge. "And I know, and I know, It just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up. I've never been so surreptitious, so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch." He's become sneaky, just as she was. and is intentionally ruining her night." well this is just what i think... am i getting there? |
