Darren Hayes – Casey Lyrics 16 years ago
somebody mentioned that 'waking the monster' and 'how to build a time machine' went together in that the former was part 1 and the latter was part 2. to me, Casey is part 3. at the end of 'time machine' he sings "in a stunning ball of white the light explodes into another moment." so the moment, imo, concludes with Casey.

Lady GaGa – Alejandro Lyrics 16 years ago
you're close. according to the song booklet it's, "and all those flame that burned before him/ now he's gotta firefight/ got-cool the bad." that's not what i hear, but that's what it says =/

i don't think some of these lyrics are correct. is this what darren said they were, or just someone's interpretation?

Darren Hayes – Lift Me Up Lyrics 16 years ago
though i agree with most of the comments about darren thinking of his lovers as 'friends,' i also think he probably uses that word (early on before he came out) so as not to distinguish between male or female. you'll notice that he *rarely* ever uses female pronouns. i don't think he wanted to use the word 'she' or 'her' because then he would be lying about who he is, but he couldn't use 'he' or 'him' because he hadn't come out yet.

it's a demo, so probably somewhere between '93 and '96.

Darren Hayes – God Is In the Room Lyrics 17 years ago
it looks like we're ALL wrong. according to darren, this is what the song is about: "and as for the girl in 'god..' it's really a reaction to hearing a demo recording of someone very famous. I was struck by the fragility and carefree nature of this rare and secret recording. I felt so lucky to have heard the recording that I wrote the love song to the author.."

first of all, mag89, i'm not a guy. second of all, i said my first theory wasn't very likely, it was just a thought. and third of all, are you saying gay couples can't have children? hello?? adoption!

Darren Hayes – Insatiable Lyrics 17 years ago
i cant believe all the negative comments posted for this song. i loved it when it first came out (i've heard it too much tho so i'm kind of over it, still good tho). and darren sounds amazing in it. granted the 'spin' album wasn't that amazing but he admitted it himself that it wasn't, because it was rushed and not a whole lot of thought was put into it. and he's more than improved since then so all those people who were "disapointed" in him need to get over themselves.

Darren Hayes – Lucky Town Lyrics 17 years ago
though i love this song, i honestly have no idea what darren is talking about. i'm leaning towards the notion that it might have something to do with him being gay. he's finally accepting the fact that he is. it's not easy being different, but the fact that they live in the UK/london (lucky town?) made it possible for darren and richard to get married. i dunno, something like that lol.

sorry, i meant to say the imaginary girl in the SONG, not dream (i was looking up dream meanings right before this so i must've been on autopilot lol).

i have two theories about this song: first, it could be that the imaginary girl in the dream is the person darren would be with if he weren't gay. but i don't think darren would think like that cuz i think he's happy the way he is. so my other theory is that the imaginary girl could be the child he always wanted, a daughter (i don't know if he actually wants a daughter, i'm just guessing). the chorus could mean that she loves her dad very much (the kiss he sings of could be a kiss on the cheek). when you listen to the lyrics, it sounds like this girl is very young: imaginary world, she makes up movies in her head, she thinks that everyday is saturday, she's always chasing butterflies, she dances around in public she don't care let them stare...etc. etc. but yeah that's just my opinion =]
