I hear "stone" as well and it makes more sense than storm. Read the first sentence of the song to yourself and envision it. Dig at it's meaning. "It's unfortunate that when we feel a stone / we can roll ourselves over 'cause we're uncomfortable." In such a scenario, the solution to our discomfort is so simple . We can solve it quickly, and as amyerin pointed out, with "ease and convenience." Why is this unfortunate? Because when the emotions and livelihood of others/self are involved, we can't just wash our hands of them. Not that it is desirable, but I'm sure there are times we'd like our problems to simply disappear. They don't. Honesty and acceptance are crucial at moments like these, not avoidance and cowardice/fear. |

| Radiohead – Lotus Flower Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The theme of rebirth is everywhere, a new state of transcendent knowledge, enlightenment. Peace. We all have questions: "Just to see what if..." And long for Truth: "Just to see what is." But don't assume you know it or have found it: "Open your mouth wide / (and) the Universe will sigh." To do so is prideful considering our limited scope and knowledge. What do YOU know? The personification is so subtle yet so poignant. Beautiful lyrics that leave one humbled. Just know your place and be at peace. Pride is a recurring stumbling block that no one is above: "your fast ballooning head"/"My fast ballooning head" Great advice/solution in the beginning. Just chill out: "Don't blow your mind with why" "If you want truth to stand clear before you, never be for or against. The struggle between 'for' and 'against' is the mind’s worst disease." – Sent-ts’an A hopeful tone. Faith that we can attain enlightenment. Cleansing rebirth: "Slowly we unfurl / as lotus flowers" Now go check out the lyrics for Separator. "The roots of a lotus are in the mud; the stem grows up through the water, and the flower lies above the water, basking in the sunlight. This pattern of growth signifies the progress of the soul from the primeval mud of materialism, through the waters of experience, and into the bright sunshine of enlightenment. Though there are other water plants that bloom above the water, it is only the lotus which, owing to the strength of its stem, rises eight inches above the surface." "Its unfolding petals suggest the expansion of the soul." |

| Kid Cudi – Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare) (feat. MGMT & Ratatat) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| People do it. It's a reality. You can close your eyes... or acknowledge it. Don't be disturbed, because this song IS about "the dangers of an extreme party lifestyle." This song seems rather personal so let him explore his ideas and his wrestling with some feelings. | |

| The one rare comment that hits the nail on the head. Everyone gets carried away with the "O HAVE UNINHIBITED FUN" but few venture into the uncertainty and fears that this kind of life brings. It's tragic if you really think about it and that's what makes this song so good. He's being real and upfront. We all want to be happy. Kid Cudi shows some depth here and I respect him greatly for it. | |
| Jars of Clay – The Valley Song (Sing of Your Mercy) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's a reminder to me of how devoting your life to God doesn't mean everything is going to be swell and dandy in life... but it calls us to be faithful when brought through valleys of sorrow or to rivers of joy. It's easy to forget this when everything seems to be going perfectly well. | |
