| Modest Mouse – Styrofoam Boots/It's All Nice on Ice, Alright Lyrics

I'd always thought the "man" was jesus. The line "looking at something else/but directing everything to me" refers to the common depiction of christ on the cross, looking off into the distance. Although this could be contradicted by him "look[ing] like everyone I'd ever seen", I think this is still consistent. Could be referring to jesus being everyone's personal savior, and therefore being with everyone at all times, could be that they're in the afterlife, and appearances of deities are fluid, there are enough possible explanations that I'm satisfied.
Also, I've always loved this song as a sort of poem to the christian afterlife from the point of view of an atheist struggling with faith. Quite beautiful imagery and emotions |

| The Postal Service – Suddenly Everything Has Changed (The Flaming Lips cover) Lyrics

I think this song is about spontaneous introspection in any context. He's putting away groceries, he's driving home, he's doing his laundry, and partway through folding a shirt he thinks of something random and reminisces and doesn't realize what's happened until 30 mins later when he still hasn't finished his laundry. He's gained a new perspective on a past event, and suddenly everything changes. |

You left something out of the lyrics. At the end of the first verse, after he says, "so empty," he says, "and please, please, don't leave me here." |

Mr. Moustache, I hope you're being facetious.
My first impression when listening was that it was about drugs of some sort, but I definitely could see it being about trying to find a new definition for yourself by moving to another place and discovering it's all pretty much the same, except you don't know anybody now... |

| Modest Mouse – Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset Lyrics

For me, the last verse is pretty much just about mindless banter between friends. They're not really thinking about what they're saying, so sometimes they say really stupid or terrible things. The blanketing opinions thing is about making huge overgeneralizations, the talking shit about a pretty sunset is just trying to make conversation at the expense of something great and beautiful |
