Sonic Youth – Tunic (Song for Karen) Lyrics 17 years ago
when i had this song on repeat, and all the other times before i listened to this song, everytime i heard the part "you aren't never going anywhere" i always visioned karen's mother telling her that it'll all be right and that she won't die, at least, die like the way she did.
but after watching the video just now on youtube, i got the impression that maybe karen had a rough relationship with her mother and her mother told her all her life that "you aren't never going anywhere" thus the basis of her anorexia.

which one is right?

The Doors – Horse Latitudes Lyrics 17 years ago
all of you saying this song is anout heroin use; you're wrong.
jim didn't support the use of heroin use. they even respectivly portrayed the fact in the movie; when he walks in on pam shooting up with her italian lover and jim/val says "don't forget your smack on the way out."
jim mainly used psychidelic drugs; peyote, mescaline, marijuana, acid, etc.
and not to forget alcohol.

The Velvet Underground – I'll Be Your Mirror Lyrics 17 years ago
nico was, and is, a godess.
i read that this was one of the hardest songs for thev vu to record because of nico's harsh accent. take after take the guys wanted her to do it even softer and she'd do it even harder than the previous. eventually, before the version we all know today, she was in tears at the fact she couldn't user up a angelic voice for it. and after crying they gave it one last shot. and nico got it.
but, i dont think anyone could have sung this better. her voice lets you know it's a nico/vu song.

one of the few simple songs ever written that you still need to find a meaning.

The Doors – Indian Summer Lyrics 17 years ago
i'm only 16 years old, and i've been a doors fan ever since i was 7 years old. when people discover this, and question me on my knowledge of jim and the doors, or ask what my favorite song is, they expect the usuals like "Light My Fire" but when i say "Indian Summer" they don't know what i'm talking about.
this song makes my heart pound harder and my breath faster. it's an utterly amazing, utterly beautiful song. it just goes to show that something really simple can be really beautiful and meaningful.

and, Felixx, it is actually "that i meet in the summer; indian summer" not "that i mean in the summer; indian summer." jim is probably reffering to, that no matter how many women he comes across he only truly loves one.

The Smashing Pumpkins – 1979 Lyrics 17 years ago
i've always loved SP ever since i was little, and since i am a teenager this song reminds me a lot of the weekends i spend out partying and having fun with my friends.
the song's imagery in the lyrics is astounding. "with the headlights pointed at the dawn" depicts what it reads.
"we're not sure just where our bones will rest. to dust, i guess" that lyrics reminds me of when i'm out with friends late at night when regular people in town are sleeping, we're partying and having fun, but yet, we don't really know where we will sleep that night, and at that moment we don't really care if we were to die, because we're having such a good time.
