| Seether – Sympathetic Lyrics

After being the nice guy your whole life, but being self-destructive to fill the void you constantly feel. And when you finally find the love of your life who can save you and makes you think you have hope to change your ways, she leaves because your inability to not be the "nice guy". This song is the aftermath of that, and the slow spiral descending back into self-destruction. |

It sounds a lot to me like a torturer talking to the prisoner. There seems to be a lot of references to water boarding, especially in the second verse. |

| Shinedown – Burning Bright Lyrics

This song perfectly describes me.
The main topic is about someone who is always questioning themselves.
The first verse is about how you don't want to share all your thoughts and why you are sad even with the people you know, even thought you know it will make you feel better.
Chorus is about how many times we take for granted being the good guy and ever now and then we need to take a step back and look at what we've become from an outsiders view.
Second verse describes people who try too hard to be different (ie emos) and try to cover up their faults as just differences.
Verse 3 is about always searching for the right answer, and because of the constant decisions life brings, it almost becomes unbearable. |

| Metallica – Until It Sleeps Lyrics

James said it was about cancer, but I really think it's about addiction.
Especially the line: "Just like a curse, just like a stray. You feed it once and now it stays". You give in to "only one" drink, and it spirals out of control. |

It's about nostalgia. I'm sure all people miss their youth where there were no responsibilities and everything was easier. |

I think it is about he has a great relationship with someone, and his other wants to get married. He realizes that this will just make them like each other less and less and "throw their life away". She just wants to live the life she thinks all girls are supposed as seen on TV. |

The song is talking about all those people who think that simply believing in God is enough to get into heaven. You must follow through on your belief and act rightly. |

It could be about being in a relationship he knows is only going to cause him pain, and yet he still can't resist, or in my opinion, it's about drugs. He knows they're bad for him but he still can't stop himself from doing them. |

My interpretation, which I read somewhere is confirmed by the band, is that this song is a struggle against fate. Fate has decided that it is the main character "time to die" and he refuses to let fate take him away from his love. |

| Three Days Grace – Get Out Alive Lyrics

What the hell? You guys think it's about drugs? That thought never even crossed my mind.
It's about a martyr choosing to give his life for the church and the whole song is him thinking out the pros and cons and finally making his choice.
I'm not even going to bother quoting cause there's too many lyrics that support it and that would take too long. |

| Shinedown – Sin With a Grin Lyrics

Favorite Shinedown song, and favorite song ever. It is thanking someone for putting them through so much that they have been driven crazy, as that is the only way to endure the pain (think Joker from Dark Knight). Personally, this song thanks all who caused me pain, as it is what gave me a better understanding of life, and now I feel I have it all figured out. I now enjoy the full spectrum of emotions, even if it makes no sense to enjoy pain, the very antonym of happiness. It's hard to explain the new understanding that I think this song is about. |

| Shinedown – 45 Lyrics

He wishes to commit suicide, and be taken to the perfect world, heaven, where he won't feel pain anymore. Pointing their fingers sounds to me like everyone around him will not stop trying to stop him from pulling the trigger, even though he is not even sure if he wants to. I surprises no one else has figured out the message to the unborn child. I'm pretty sure he's telling the unborn child that it may be better to have not lived. He's advising not to be born so that it will not have to go through the same pain he had. |

| Shinedown – What a Shame Lyrics

Whenever I hear this song, I think of Brent singing his closing remarks as the defense lawyer for someone about to be tried for using drugs or doing something under the influence. How a good man is being put in jail for something he could not control, and how evil man still run free. He tells how good that man was, and tries desperately to explain the uncontrollable addiction. If you look at the words, they seem to support this a lot, and some of the words I heard differently, which may explain my interpretation (thought church bell was judge's bell). Finally, as he nears his conclusion, he needs to scream, for the jury is unsympathetic, and he must make them understand! Throughout the song you can hear how him and the "vagabond" are better than everyone else because they can forgive this world that their understanding of justice was ahead of. |

| Three Days Grace – Animal I Have Become Lyrics

No one else seems to feel this way, but it very much feels like he is trying to deal with an addiction to pornography, sex, and masturbation. He will find himself being overtaken by an uncontrollable force, the animal inside him, and no matter how much he wants to stop, he simply can't. He wants somebody to help him, but as you can see in the video, an attractive women would just hurt him more, and he is angry that his "help from God" is nothing more than another challenge. |

| Three Days Grace – (I Hate) Everything About You Lyrics

I feel strongly for this song. It's about how everyone always tells you that no matter how much your parents annoy you, hurt you, etc, "you still love them". Finally, you come to your own realization that you really don't, and would not be hurt if they were gone from your life. Eventually, it gets so bad that even every time they speak, you vision blurs. You get to the point where you really just hate absolutely everything about them. |

| Shinedown – Save Me Lyrics

The meaning is obvious, drugs. What I pay more attention to is the underlying meaning in the music structure (the bass line). For ever one step forward, the narrator felt he was made to take many backwards. He expects to be saved just from going to a mass, but discovers that the only thing that can save him is his own choice. He lacks the strength to break free, and after his final plea, he surrenders. He simply asks others to remember his struggle, and learn from him (please don't erase me). |

| Shinedown – I Dare You Lyrics

I've always interpreted as a father who was unsuccessful at sports and has immensely burdened his child with pressure to become a professional athlete and love sports. The child finally gives the father a "play" to tell him that even though a small part of him wants to listen to him, he cannot ignore his own wishes anymore. This does not have to apply to sports, but anything else the father failed in. Sports was just the easiest example to explain. |
