@[Krusty1:27757] I agree w/ the Watership Down reference, nice catch, btw! Trail of a thousand tears could be a reference to the Native American displacement of the same name. Two references with some sad/negative connotations.
The rabbit god is hunted by everyone, the Native Americans were excommunicated from their homes.
My take is that the lyricist intentionally did this damage to their lover’s social status out of a passion, during quarrel or breakup. Now, she sees the consequences and that ghost is some inkling of remorse or the knowledge that she *should* feel remorse, but that doesn’t mean she really feels it. |

punkisanattitude you are entitled to your fucked up insane opinion. The reason people like the Misfits is because of the subtle use of vocal harmony, minor key tonalities, the aggressive lead vocals, the shit is fun to sing along to! Not to mention the lyrics are awesome. As far as the lyrics to this particular song, first I'd like to say to the guys who pussyfoot around this and try to explain that he's talking about something else other than KILLING BABIES and RAPING MOTHERS you're fooling yourselves with your BULLSHIT. I don't know exactly whether he's speaking in first, second or third person, but I'm pretty sure he's talking about DEATH since he mentions it IDK a dozen times at least. My impression is that he either punched some chick in the stomach and forced her to abort or forced her to go to the clinic and get an abortion and that he also fucked that same woman against her will at some point, or was fucking her maybe with her consent but was fantasizing about it being rape or they did some healthy roleplaying. He's saying good that baby is dead, great I fucked your mom I don't really give a shit about anyone but myself and really if you want to psychoanalyse it maybe that's because I don't give a fuck about myself either and I can't wait to fucking die. But don't give me a bunch of shit about freaking out, because I really don't care, I'm okay with it, I WELCOME SWEET DEATH. That's just my take, I get a visual of a guy ripping a baby out of it's mother's womb or taking it from her arms and tossing it aside then raping her and not really giving a shit, it's all just another day in the life. |

| Misfits – Hybrid Moments Lyrics

I think of it as a hybrid, that is a joining of the two aspects of pain and pleasure. He sings "if you're gonna scream, scream with me" it's about the girl screaming in horror, (like in a horror film) and there's the pleasure/pain (SM) of that moment, but it won't last "moments like this never last". The mouth rape and crying girl is all a part of these fractions of moments but then the moment is over so he's saying give me that moment.. again and again. I guess I agree somewhat with the rapist interpretation but I think it's more like a fantasy he's thinking about while watching a horror flick or maybe combining with his own experiences in memory. |

Inside your fetal/feeble brain there's probably a heart... if you don't shut your mouth, you're gonna feel the blow/floor" I think the song is about a woman specifically because he calls her "baby" |
