Its that whole notion of not realising the obvious at the time, in this case, true love, until it is too late. It seems rather unfair to have this lament and yearning. Time and circumstance were not on their side. Awfully sad and beautiful at the same time. |

I have checked this discussion on a weekly basis and have had this song on heavy rotation on my itunes for the last 5 months. I think the meaning changes for me every time I listen to it and I think thats how Sam intended it to be. I definitely think its about separation and the yearning feeling when two people are apart. Listening to this song, there's a sense that everything happens for a reason. Even though the people involved cant pinpoint the reason for their time together or their sudden separation, this song is basically saying don't forget about one another. I also agree that it is like "wings of desire" which i highly recommend! I absolutely love it! |

| Quickly becoming my favorite song from her latest album. Reminiscent of Goethe's work. I love how this song is a call to your loved one to not forget, not to leave and move on. Beautiful and unrequited love. | |
