| Keane – Everybody's Changing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It just rhymes with "I don't feel right" | |
| Sinead O'Connor – This Is A Rebel Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| She had a fling with an English man, whose erections were very hard, and she kind of assumes that they are in a relationship, and can't understand why he keeps ignoring her, but he doesn't love her - he was only after one thing. | |
| Robbie Williams – Sexed Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
'Sexed Up' means making something appear more attractive than it really is. I guess it means they've been making the relationship seem more attractive than it really is, or also perhaps that it's been hyped up in the press. It's a very subtle song actually. 'Loose lips sink ships' is a WWII slogan to encourage people to keep their mouths shut. Damage already done in this case... |

| John K. Samson – Greenest Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| When John was in Propagandhi, some of the lyrics from this song were spliced with others in Showdown. The contrast is brilliant. | |
| Propagandhi – March Of The Crabs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The petering out ending of this song is a very big contrast with the strong end to the final song on the album, Purina Hall of Fame. From these two songs together, I take that it isn't the big marches and confrontations that make the most difference, it's every tiny act of rebellion in trying to make the right choices. The same theme comes out in '...And we thought nation states were a bad idea', on the previous album. | |

| Propagandhi – I Was a Pre-Teen McCarthyist Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Love your enemies, that's what this song means to me. They were also born head first and ankle deep. But some people are able to grow out of their skewed world view faster than others. It's musically brilliant. You've just got to love the pause after "In grade 3 I had a written composition about the global threat of communism." And the strong ending is incredible. 'when you jump ship, you either swim for shore or drown. Don't let the fuckers drag you down.' - I guess this could refer to way ideologies polarise people and 'you're either with us or against us' mentality. |
