Depeche Mode – Little 15 Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song doesn't have to be a lovesong, it's about classic problems of understanding between parents and teenagers who grow up and at one point think that they're adult enough to make their own conclusions, to have their own opinions that differ a lot from ones of the people who have had seen a lot in life, who are much more mature.
"Why does she have to defend the feelings inside?" - why does she have to prove to a young teenager things she has faced in her life which he doesn't want to see or to admit.

"Do you understand
Do you know what she means
As time goes by
And when you've seen what she's seen... you will"
The teenager doesn't understand yet what he's not faced yet, but he will one day after he would face it too, like SHE did.

"Though I've banned your name since then
I'll call it with my dying breath"

the greatest line ever.

Hooverphonic – Renaissance Affair Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree with some comments on here. It's a song about a love affair between 2 people who both are married or are in other serious relationships, they live away from each other, occasionally ring up each other (from Paris to New York), meet somewhere in hotels. They miss each other when they are away from each other and people who want them to fall down are the ones who maybe see how strong and breathtaking their relationship is and envy it.

Hooverphonic – 2 Wicky Lyrics 17 years ago
I think there's some deep meaning beyond these words and numbers.

"This is the flight number of our galactic sun
Prophet 60091
Before we start you should know that you're not the only one"

Sun is always being compared to something unique, one and only and in this song it's just being described as something with a serial number, something usual, something there's plenty of around. And a man who this song as addressed to, is compared to Sun, he's unique, he's great, but that doesn't mean he's one of the kind. There are others. And hence "before we start you should know that you're not the only one", even Sun is not the only one.

"This is the serial number of our orbital gun
SH10151
You better be sure before you leave me for another one"
Not sure, but maybe she kinda threatens with a gun and reads its serial number in order to make him believe she really has a gun and really will shoot him if he would leave her for another one

Hooverphonic – Eden Lyrics 17 years ago
I've been in a situation which just reflects Eden lyrics. I used to have a best friend who I secretly was in love with. I never tried to let him know because I was scared he would never take me as more a friend. And once he fell in love with a girl and didn't tell me. And, which is much worse, we estranged, he began to avoid me, to lie to me - as I found out later. And finally he betrayed me.

As for my situation:
"Did you ever think of me as your best friend?" - I know wonder if he ever really considered me as his best friend.
"Did I ever think of you, I'm not complaining" - if it's not so, I would understand...
"I never tried to feel this vibration" - I never expected that he would ever betray me, I couldn't see the signs of our friendship falling apart.
"I never tried to reach your Eden" - I always wanted, but never tried to tell him how I loved him.
"Did I ever think of you as my enemy?" - I ask myself and answer is "yes", after all we've been through.
"Did you ever think of me?" - it's kind of desperation, maybe this person not only didn't count me as his best friend, but never really cared about me at all.
"I'm complaining" - I finally admit. Another example of desperation, of regret.

So that story's in the past, but maybe it would come close to the real meaning of this great song.
