I think this song is about christ and his resurection after he is crucified. you thought you had me but I'm still here standing. i think parts also deal with his time on the cross and what people thought after he came back. And you're here now feeling the pain of a thousand hearts you've been to hell and back again you can't take this. And toward the end its the feeling he'll hopefully have after the apocalypse. And we're here now feeling the beat of a thousand hearts coming back to life again we can make it.

I think that maybe this song is saying that someone put his faith in god and wanted to be like jesus. but god put him through trials that left him with scars that caused him to fall away from jesus. Open wounds always heal with a scar, so maybe he's in an emotional turmoil and feels like he can't trust god anymore because of how he's been hurt by him. He may have also felt that his dreams for being close to god were ruined because of the way god tested him so harshly. maybe he saw taht the devil had influenced his pain "downstairs the enemy sleeps" its the job effect job had his farm and huis life destroyed but he praised ogd. mauybe this is what job would felt like during that time if he didn't have such a staunch belief in god.

I dont think the it means that john found god himself. I think it means that John found gods love for himself, even after all teh crap and hard times hes been through. Just like alotta people turn to drugs or alchol or sex to try to help themselves John turned to god.

This song is so great! i love it. I think that it is meaning that he is looking toward god but the devil is pulling him and binding him with sin. "Live free" and if he can't get out of the sin he wants to die "Or let me die". I think the term gasping with all your might refers to trying to get out of the sin and breathe god in. "Do you remember how You became who you are now Do you remember how It felt to breathe without Gasping with all your might" hes asking if we remember how we came to god willingly and by our own accord and we weren't forced to love him.

This song means to me that it's when we're up late at night with nothing on but a Tv and we pray and we read our bibles. 'Stay up late and we talk all night in a dark room lit by the TV light' it means talking to God. It's also the song for me and my best friend, and all of teh guys in the youth at my church. we've stayed up late at night ands talked and traded jokes and acted stupid but I love my youth group... revolution youth.
