Brilliant!! We're all so afraid of showing how we feel because it makes us vulnerable. It's much better to be ice cold. To act like you don't care. Life is short guys! Tell em how you feel today, because you might not get the chance tomorrow. |

A twisted relationship. (This ain't no cutsie love song.) Not necessarily a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife relationship. Actually I get the sense that the narrator is a bit of a stalker character, may or not be an ex. In either case, Narrator is obsessed ("I love you so..." and "Your fever's gripped me again" he is sick/crazed with love for her) and Woman does not reciprocate ("Never kisses all you ever send are fullstops") I think there is an element of rape in this song: It depicts the rape of this woman at the hand of Narrator, her obsessive stalker. If this is sex, it is non-consensual ("She may contain the urge to run away, but hold her down..."). When he mentions Wild Things, he is referring to himself, a beast, ("They go along to take your honey".) The whole third verse could be describing the rape ("fear has gripped me but here I go...Your hand grips hand as my eyes shut...") At the end of the song, Narrator says, "Germaline disinfect the scene", an attempt to purge himself of the crime. His obsession culminates in the last lines: "Please don’t go, I’ll eat you whole I love you so, I love you, so I love you so..." Desperate, pleading, he repeats "I love you" and then "I'll eat eat you whole", the all-consuming nature of his "love" on the part of both the woman and himself as well. |

Shout at the world! Because the world doesn't love you! We're all gonna die and there's nothing you can do about it. No special treatment for anybody. too bad :( really existential, i think a lot of LC! songs are. |

| He doesn't literally want a girl that "laughs for no one else/ never leaves the house etc." He's making a commentary on jealousy- it's an irrational emotion that creates unrealistic desires. You want a girl that doesn't associate with anyone else; you want her all to yourself. Describing this "ideal" girl is Rivers's way of pointing out that she simply doesn't exist. There's always gonna be other people in your girl's life and that's just the way it is. | |

Here's my $.02.... It's gotta be about alcohol but i don't think its like wooo!! alcohol!! lets party!!.... i think it's more commentating on it...like the only thing the guy in the song can focus on is "white light" and "alcohol" then there's that part in the middle where it sounds all zen, like bliss or extasy that comes when he's actually on whatever the substance is, then it starts over with the guy waiting for his next fix: "white light"... it's a cycle... he yearns for the alcohol/whitelight finally gets it, then needs more. |
