Agreed lyrics seem all correct to me. As for the meaning I think it's obvious as well. Classic Jonny Craig. This song is a good representation of his mindset I think. He can be perceived as a sort of troubled person because of the songs he writes, but you can always see the strength he has too. "Self-taught, a trick I played for far too long, Soft speech with heavy words that come from no book" He is so uniquely independent, and that's the way most of ought to be. |

I think this song and Children of Divorce, can let us predict that the new CD is going to be more direct feelings to his life. You don't see song lyrics like this from Emarosa, or even old DGD. Something I thought was interesting was this line "bottled up like smoke floating over planes". Is that almost...sarcastic? Because smoke floating over planes (probably referring to clouds?) appears to me, to be extremely free, and not contained at all. And one last thing, there were a few lyrics that I thought might have been slightly different, and I have no idea which one of us is right but it might be "I fought back, can you remember?" and "Do the words 'I still love you' give you security?". Let me know what you guys think of it all. |
