Oh, also, do you think its relevant that the victim is changing the "evil" to "nobody" everytime? I think it shows her further refusal to believe that her abuser is hurting her. She refuses to refer to her abuser as "evil" to the singer, so she rephrases his statement but with "nobody". It seems like she's genuinely trying to understand the statement the singer is saying, but can't bring herself to call her abuser "evil." She probably believes that she really loves him, and doesn't want to hurt him. I thought that at the end, when he's saying "evil has never loved you" and she's saying "nobody has ever loved you"..etc. It feels like an argument. Like he's trying to make her see that her abuser doesn't love her, and she's trying to make a point, repeating what he says as if she means, "what do you mean by evil?" What do you think? |

Yeah, I think that's perfect, dancingkitsune. Also I just want to point out, the kind of mentality that the victim has. At the beginning she says she's "zero," and to not waste words with her. I think this is important because that shows how bad her abuser is. He makes her feel like she's worthless. Like she's not even worthy of having a conversation with someone. Which I think is so sad. But its sweet how the singer won't give up on her. Great song. Extremely catchy. |
