| Modest Mouse – Teeth Like God's Shoeshine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
this is one of the only modest mouse songs where i truely don't know what it's about i think isaac took many mixed emotions he had about love, deceit, and lifes burdens and just mixed them into a song for people to interpret the way they want. Here's the man with teeth like God's shoeshine He sparkles, shimmers, shines Let's all have another orange julius Thick syrup standing in lines The malls are the soon to be ghost towns Well, so long, farewell, goodbye ^ my favorite line i think it refers to the fakeness of so many individuals and how snake-like people can be. in this case referring to salesmen "malls are soon to be ghost towns" |

| Bob Dylan – Mr. Tambourine Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
it's about loathing of other people and self aspiration i think. it may have drug references or of been influence by drugs but overall it is not a drug song. interpret how you want but that is my opinion bob dylan often uses so many symbols in his songs standing for other things which makeshim more interesting, and very hard to interpret. |

| Modest Mouse – The Good Times Are Killing Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
true, drugs O: Can you talk a bit about "The Good Times Are Killing Me," and how it touches on the band's reputation for over-indulgence? IB: There's been a lot of drug abuse. The only drugs I've ever actually written any music on are pills, pot, and alcohol. Acid or coke, you can't write songs on that shit. I kind of regret how much I did drugs. There was a point in time when it seemed like a good plan, but it probably wasn't. Especially inhalants, and shit like that—I think I was a bit brighter before I did that. Inhalants and meth were probably the two things that totally fucking screwed me out of some brain cells. |

| Modest Mouse – The View Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
O: But you seem of the opinion that it might destroy us all, too. IB: It's trying both. Basically, it's a push-me, pull-me thing. Science finds a way to fuck things up, and then science finds a way to fix it. There's a song on the record that's pretty much about that, "The View." That whole "We're fixed right where we stand" lyric. For every positive thing that we accomplish, something negative comes out of it, and vice versa. The computer is a perfect example: It's a great timesaving device, but I spend so much time dicking around with my computer just to get it to save me time. I don't know how they got my number, but someone wants to sell me Viagra really bad. Also, apparently my penis is really small. Word's out. Penis enlargement? The whole 10 feet? I guess I would want that—for novelty, for a party trick. |

| Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
INTERVIEW WITH ISAAC BROCK: O: "Float On" almost seems like it was written as a challenge to yourself to write a more "up" song, both lyrically and musically. IB: It was a completely conscious thing. I was just kind of fed up with how bad shit had been going, and how dark everything was, with bad news coming from everywhere. Our president is just a fucking daily dose of bad news! Then you've got the well-intentioned scientists telling us that everything is fucked. I just want to feel good for a day. I'd had some friends die, and with Jeremy kind of losing it... After we got out of that dark spot with everything melting down with the band, I just wanted to make a positive record. I think we managed to make a quarter of the record positive, and the rest is either kind of dark or more just relaxing into things being how they are, resigned. so he basically wrote this song because of all he band news that he always heard and felt like being happy. |

the songs about parasites, and self-loathing "you do it to yourself" is a message the yorke is trying to send them to be a man, stand up and take responsibility |

| Modest Mouse – Ocean Breathes Salty Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
this mm song (among the greatest) is about being alone out in ocean, then realizing all the things in your life which you took for granted and suddenely them meaning everything to you. and the ultimate sadness that you just came to this realization and are about to decease, the last thing this person feels after all of these hard emotions is the oceans salty water. again, great music from isaac brock accompanied by jonny marr |

| Maroon 5 – Goodnight, Goodnight Lyrics | 17 years ago |

what's with all this high-rated, shitty, unmeaningful music? learn to like music for its lyrics and really take it in deeply; when you do it with this song nothing happens its a dry, bad song |

| Modest Mouse – Little Motel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
this song is about a a couple and their kid the kid is very sick and they know in their hearts that the kid is going to die. but they don't want their kid to be surrounded by machines and unnatural things. the kid is very cold We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this this to me means that the kid is dying, they don't want him to be "out to drift" they don't want him to die alone "i can see it in your eyes like i taste your lips" means the love between the girl and the guy and their ultimate sadness for their kid; this song is truely amazing; watch the music video this song is "our" song (my girlfriend and i.) |

| Bob Dylan – Like a Rolling Stone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
to me this song is about someone who had everything and in life had not really had to work much to get such credible earnings. that they were probably born under rich background and were basically a lazy, unworking invidual. then they lose everything. and this person needs to adjust to dealing with there new life, the need to break their lazy habits and begin to work and adjust to their new surroundings. so basically it's about having everything and taking so many things for granted and then losing everything; and then in time being able to appreciate things more and work for things rather than have them given to you. i love bob dylan, amazing lyrics |

| Cannibal Corpse – Necropedophile Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| such one sided music... all about dead molestation and brutal torture. they mask theresevles by writing disgusting music followed by metiocre guitar riffs and screamings to hide that they really just are terrible musicians. anyone who buys into listening to there music out of shock value must have the maturity of a 12 year old | |

| Bob Dylan – Don't Think Twice, It's All Right Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
this song is about lacking personal commitment ive listening to this song so much and know the lyrics like the back of my hand he loves a girl who won't commit to him, she won't call his name out, turn on his light and they still love eachother; but she's just not making it work. Dylan wrote this song as a break up song "so long honey babe, where im bound i cannot tell, where goodbye is not good enough a word babe, so i'll just say fare thee well; im not saying that you treated me unkind, you could of done but i don't mind, you just kinda wasted my precious time; so don't think twice it's alright" This is saying that even though he loves her unconditionally he still has to leave before he gets hurt more or she get's hurt more; he loves a girl that can't commit to him. |
