this song is about the gadsen flag and an essay benjamin franklin published in the "Pennsylvania Journal under the pseudonym American Guesser in which he suggested that the rattlesnake was a good symbol for the American spirit: 'I recollected that her eye excelled in brightness, that of any other animal, and that she has no eye-lids–She may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance.–She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage.–As if anxious to prevent all pretensions of quarreling with her, the weapons with which nature has furnished her, she conceals in the roof of her mouth, so that, to those who are unacquainted with her, she appears to be a most defenseless animal; and even when those weapons are shewn and extended for her defense, they appear weak and contemptible; but their wounds however small, are decisive and fatal:–Conscious of this, she never wounds till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her.–Was I wrong, Sir, in thinking this a strong picture of the temper and conduct of America?' " wikipedia for more check out Seewa's and Adeori's comments i will not add anymore then the quoted essay because the got it right first, why take away from them? |

| ... i definitely would not say we do whatever the hell we need to do to remain powerful... we sort of have these things called umm morals and laws... thats basically dictatorship what you said... pretty sure america is more about the freedom then the power | |

| Metallica – Don't Tread On Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| its not about the power why americans are patriotic its about the freedom and how at the begining of our country we got rid of the opressors with a seamingly much weaker army since britain was the super power back then and we liberated ourselves. it's about how our country was made based on freedom and christian beliefs that all men are created equal and the government doesnt rule you, you rule the government. If China does become the worlds next super power we will not care, we are still America, we are still proud of our heritage and our freedom | |

Benjamin Franklin commented on the symbolism of the snake for America in a newspaper under a pseudonym saying, "I recollected that her eye excelled in brightness, that of any other animal, and that she has no eye-lids–She may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance.–She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage.–As if anxious to prevent all pretensions of quarreling with her, the weapons with which nature has furnished her, she conceals in the roof of her mouth, so that, to those who are unacquainted with her, she appears to be a most defenseless animal; and even when those weapons are shewn and extended for her defense, they appear weak and contemptible; but their wounds however small, are decisive and fatal:–Conscious of this, she never wounds till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her.–Was I wrong, Sir, in thinking this a strong picture of the temper and conduct of America?" In closing i must say... your an idiot. How the hell could you ever come to that conclusion? |

i think this song is about a man thats about to die or will die from his poor choices "fading slowly", "breaking slowly" he now knows he shouldnt of shunned god and go into a bad life style and god still stayed with him under his skin with the holy spirit the chorus is about he reached rock bottom and he is giving god everything his soul, he has given up on the thought of him providing and protecting himself and is reaching out for god but he knows his life is already over |

| Metallica – Cure Lyrics | 17 years ago |

okay... i compeltey disagree with everyone that has comment this song and i dont see how noone else has come to my conclusion cuase i have always thought this about the song i believe that this song is about religion "Uncross your arms now Take them to it, say... I do believe Yeah, I do believe" crossing your arms is a show of defiance he is saying stop being defiant and bring them to the cure 'religion' and in church people bring their hands up high when worshipping and singing for god they dont have them crossed and what do you think he wants you to say 'i do believe' in alcohal or drugs? like eveyone else has commented this song thinks it is about? no say i do believe in god "Betting on the cure It must get better than this Betting on the cure Yeah, everyone's gotta to have the sickness Cause everyone seems to need the cure Precious cure" your taking a bet on the cure that it is correct "it must get better than this" life must get better than earth everyone must have the 'sickness' cause every civalization has had a 'cure' it is "precious" because people die for their faith and eveyone has needed one to make sense of things "The lie is tempted and she follows Again she hits him in She must believe to feel the hollow She's been fooled again" the lie has been put out on her plate and she eats it and she must believe in it to feel that she is still hollow she has been fooled again; it is not the real cure "The man takes another bullet He keeps them all within He must seek no matter how it hurts So don't fool again He thinks the answer is cold and in his hand He takes his medicine The man takes another bullet Yeah! He's been fooled again" he is trying to take the quick route to find out the truth he is trying to commit suicide to get to find out what is the truth "he must seek no matter how it hurts" he must seek out the answer no matter how much it is going to hurt killing himself or if it is true and he might go to hell for not believing or cause he commited suicide he just feels the need to find out the truth which one was the real cure and which ones were the poisons? "yeah hes been fooled again" he has possibly been fooled to kill himself to find out maybe someone has pushed him over the edge to try it "The lie is tempted and she follows Again she hits him in She must believe to feel the hollow She's been fooled again" again i bring you back to this for the line "again she hits him in" maybe that could mean she killed him because the man didnt have the strength to do it himself "Need to feel secure" we need to know what is going to happen so we wont be so afraid we need to feel secure that we know what is going to happen when we die please comment my comment cause i havnt found anyone that agrees with me on any site and i wonder if anyone has the same thought; thanks |

"could also mean everything will eventually break" so why are you making it your savior? (forgot to add that) "What you got, what you want, what you need Gonna be your savior" its like someone saying what you already have, what you want to have, and what else you need; thats gonna be your savior? HA!!! thats ludicrous!!! |

| Skillet – Rebirthing Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i take this song to litteraly mean you have been reBirthed into the afterLife "iv'e died" "I wanna live forever Wanna live for You and me" "Breathe for the first time now I came alive somehow" if you belive in jesus you will have eternal Life "The worst is The waiting In this world I'm suffocating" waiting to go to heaven sick of this earth filled with sin cant wait to Live in heaven, the word "world" is important in my thought of the meaning of this "I lie here lifeless In this cocoon Shedding the skin cause I'm ready to I wanna break out I found a way out" possibly the soul gettin out of the dead body, why else would you be shedding your skin? and consider your body a cacoon if your not talking about the soul? why are people afraid of death? Are you afraid to fall asleep at night? No you are not because you know you will wake the next day. This is how you should treat death, becuase you will awaken. not an exact quote but same thought from the book 'what dreams may come' |

What you got, what you want, what you need Gonna be your savior Everything's gonna crash and break But I know, yeah I know This is part here to me means, when people become materialistic, and think that their posesions are their saviors, "everthing's gonna crash and break" but the only savior is god. The one to get you out of the jam you are in is god. "everything's gonna crash and break" could also mean everything will eventually break It's time to redefine your deophobic mind Don't hesitate, there's no escape From secrets on the inside There's nothing left to lose There's nothing left to prove Surrender your love, it's all you can do change your thought about god dont hesitate asking him for help, giving him your love, you cant hide the secret that you know you wont be able to do it alone all you can do is surrender your whole self you've already lost everything theres no more need to 'try' to prove that you can do it |
