that's really interesting if that's the case. the similarities with Aesop's story are striking-- the only discernable differences are that it's a piece of cheese and not a cookie, and that there is no explanation of how the crow got the cheese. |

i think there is something extremely significant to the song's meaning in the lines "i go home/i dont feel like i want to be by myself."
as a songwriter myself, i realized that the easy rhyme hear would be "i go home/i dont feel like i want to be ALONE." a songwriter as fine as brock would have realized that, but he clearly opted to A. throw his listeners for a loop, or B. prove some kind of point, possibly similar to robert frost's "road less traveled." |
