I used to absolutely love this song, and I guess I still kind of do but I cry when I hear about it. I was stuck in New Orleans volunteering when my friend went into a coma, and I was listening to this song on my mp3 player (because i always listen to music) when my leader came up to tell me that they were pulling the plug that night on him, and I hadn't even known he was in a coma before that moment! He'd been sick for a while, so I wasn't too surprised that he was dying. But it stillhurt so much, and what made it worse was that I never did make it back before they pulled the plug. I never got to say good bye. But this song sort of got me through it at that time because maybe the meaning is something different, but the straightout lyrics reminded me so much of my love at that time, I can't even listen to it without crying, and it's been about 2 years now. I just saw them live yesterday, and they played this song. I cried obviously, and I also cried when I met them because if they hadn't exsisted, that song would've never been written, and I don't know where I'd be today. I have so much to thank them for. |
