Never opened my self this way, life is ours we live it our way. The portion that talks about "opening" one self up to another leads me to think the song is refering to relationships. Oddly this song relates to my feeling for my husband AND to my kids. We definitely live our life in an unorthodox way. This single song says it all ! I've loved it since high school. |

Thanks soo much jscurry1984! you summed it up wonderfully. That penny part had me stumped for aminute, but I think your interpretaion fits what I was taking from the song. My absolute favorite part is: We only said goodbye with words. If I had a nickel for every time I said I through with someone or something even though deep down I knew it was not over. I really responded to: ex girlfriend called me up alone and desperate on the prison phone. they want to give her seven years for being sad. That part seems to speak to relationships that you may have ended but you are still there for one another in crisis. It also talks to the unfortunate trend of society to blame or try to punish people simple being unhappy. I adore this group! |
