I think this song is talking about how gay he is. the 'accident' being his own birth, the 'emergency' being his homoerotic impulses. note he says all out for 'meat' - like a weener, probably. when he says he's 'feeling braver than I ever been' probably talking about that first, proud burst outta the closet. like "hey world. look at me. im gay. come gimme a big butt-hickey, and i'll smoke ur pubes"
thats what I get anyway. i might b wrong. |

Wow, what a great song. I like to think it's about a passenger on an airport parking shuttle that crashed either on the way to the airport or on the way back to the parking lot (I guess you can make your own interpretation here, but I wish they had been more clear when writing the song). The passenger just completely gives up on life and starts living in a cave on the side of the road where the airport parking shuttle crashed. He can just see no point in functioning and just gives up on living. The line 'everything beautiful is far away' references how he can see the air traffic control tower from where he is and it's beautiful and he wants to be there (or he wants to be in the parking lot, it's up to interpretation). I like how they leave the reason of why he's given up on life ambiguous, it just makes the song that much more deep. What a beautiful song. |
