I agree with thecoldpart. The moon is a common symbol of enlightenment. Notice that when he does immature things like tearing out pages in the books at the bookstore, the moon to him is a stranger. Like at that time he doesn't care because he doesn't understand much about living. But when he looks at the moon like he knows her, he is content with simple moments, like eating a lump of sugar. One of the ways of reaching enlightenment is being in the moment. I agree with what Mli said about the good is better than perfect line. If you try to reach perfect your fingers might start bleeding, or you might sacrifice important parts of you to be "perfect". In this case I think it's talking about living up to religion. Religion doesn't usually help people be themselves, only suppress. But if you reach enlightenment you're more likely to learn to accept yourself and be content. Also, why are every lyrics on this site's wrong? |

I feel I can relate to this song: I have bad anxiety problems to the point where I do feel like "i'm floating away" and it stops me from living life how I want to. What I want most to be carefree but when I start to become that I suddenly become very afraid and an anxiety attack starts: Boohoo I'm dying(it really does feel like you're dying) Ravenous sighing(have a hard time catching your breath) In short: Someone wanting to live like a carefree child but finding a difficult time doing so because they keep floating away. |
